Never give up, not even on another server

With the TG server empty, I joined in on the PS1441 Christian Gaming server for a round Shingle. I came in a bit late in the round. EU was already down almost 100 tickets and only held a single flag, Columns. The teams were rather small only five or six each side.

On EU, there was a single squad of four and a Commander. I joined in the squad and did what I could to help the team out. First was a fast break to Warehouses. It was an easy cap, and took bleed off slowing the drain of tickets. From there I moved to Dunes Station again capping with little trouble.

The next hundred tickets or so, was a lot of back and forth, trying to get my squad mates to push out with me to keep bleed off. We were able to capture Command, and use the walkers to our advantage, keeping most of their team trapped at refuge and dunes. Despite advances made by our team, we were not making up tickets quick enough and most in my squad seemingly had given up. At about 110 tickets left for the EU, PAC still had an 80+ ticket lead and our Commander left the game. My SL chose to step down in order to fill the Command seat, leaving me in charge of our teams only squad. While we were still down by a lot of tickets, I did my best to keep spirits up, and tried to muster the squad to work for a win.

After a lot of back and forth fighting for all of the flags, EU was still down by over 50 tickets but was pushing for a cap out. PAC put up a hell of a fight, sending troops out to capture any flag that was not guarded. Columns and even Command traded hands sever times as we pushed to keep them contained. Several times we were able to get them down to a single flag, but they would regroup and prevent us from keeping them contained.

With less than 30 tickets left, EU was still down by a lot, and time was running out. Capping out the enemy was quickly becoming our only hope. Several in the squad had given up, while they still fought, you could tell it in their voices, they were already thinking about next round.

After more fierce fighting, EU started to gain ground. While we could not seem to get a cap out, we did maintain bleed, and the ticket gap started to shrink. At one point, while the EU army lost only 6 tickets, the PAC lost over 30. Still PAC was up over 50 tickets going into the final 20 for EU.

With only 10 tickets left we made a fast cap on Runes, capping out the PAC. With most of their team still alive, however, they were able to recapture Dunes Station securing a spawn point. Several more fire fights ensued and we pushed for another Cap. With 3 tickets left, we final had all of the flags, any they had only a single solder left standing. A mad dash on foot brought us to the last enemy alive. A few grenades later, and the match was ours. We went from being down almost 150 tickets at one point to cap out, with only 3 tickets to spare, we had won.

Moral of the story: Never give up, no matter what sever you are on.

Joined server on Y with about 50 EU tickets left, and joined his squad. We began capping flag after flag in our last ditch effort, a capout. However, PAC did a darn good job - every time they were down to one flag they would go and cap another. Y did a great job squad leading, he definitely kept the squad morale up, always encouraging the members of it. Glad I decided to make this my last game of the night.

Nice job. I remember a similar thing happened in a BF2 game. Bled my team 125 tickets with only 5 tickets left.

I find the admins on PS1441 Christian Gaming to be VERY quick with kick/ban hammer. Not a fan.

Great story and good job on the turn around. Your moral is correct!!

We recently had a similar situation on Fall of Berlin were PAC won with a capout at 2 tickets...

Re: Never give up, not even on another server

Myself and jazy2 play on a lot of public servers and have had some tight games, some of the best were on shingle and port bavaria assault lines.

We have played with some great squads, hackers, bunny hoppers and stat padders but always stick it out unless the hacking gets to a stage where there are PK rockets coming through walls and killing everyone.

But we wear the tags and keep our cool and just get stuck in and hope that our TG Awesomeness shines through

Good on ya YdoUwant2know, see you in pubbie land some day, or maybe on the TG server in a week or 2?

Re: Never give up, not even on another server

These sound like when I was playing a pubbie server yesterday (WCK City Maps 64, good server, much more teamwork-based than many other pubbie servers out there). I spawn in about 1/4 of the way through Tunis as EU. Decided to SL, as EU (my team) was down about 50 tickets. PAC held Eastern, Power AND Junkyard. After inviting 4 people we move out and make a frontal assault on Junk via the catwalk. After a quick firefight with PAC in the area me and two other SMs jumped down and capped the flag, only to have a large PAC frontal assault immediately. Luckily we see them as they come through the 2 choke-points and cover them. Every time they try to come through we nade and rocket them down. By now PAC is up about 75 tickets and we're closing on 120 left. PAC makes a final push with everyone they have and just about cap Junk, but someone on our side has RDXed the cap-radius and blows them all sky high. Knowing that we have only have about 10 seconds before a significant number of them spawn at Power Station My squad and I dash to the building west of Power and get on the roof. From there we put insane amounts of nades and rockets on the flag, just as the team spawns. Another EU squad rushes to cap it but there are still PAC forces around, who kill them all. My squad rushes in and kills the defenders, reviving the ally squad and we cap Power. Now EU is at roughly 75 tickets, with PAC at 140 or so. My squad and the revived squad push out to the area between Easter Docks and Power. As we're coming up on the wall just south of Eastern I start to think "Why aren't any enemies around?"
Unfortunately while we'd been capping Power and moving to Eastern, a PAC squad had gone to Junk and capped it via the catwalk over the middle-boat. Now they had Power neutral. My squad and I rush back to Power and kill the enemies there. We re-cap Power and move off to Junk. After arriving there we sneak around the barren area to the west and cap the flag before they notice us. The PAC forces in the vicinity come out of the woodwork looking for us and expecting the capper to be a single AC recon probably and there is a large firefight over the flag. We successfully keep it and force off the enemies just as there is a simultaneous push from the middle-boat and Power Station by PAC. The tickets were at about 25 for EU, and close to 75 for PAC.
This is where it gets really hairy. I start telling my team "REVIVE! REVIVE! REVIVE!" as the assault starts. Somehow, through some phenomenon, we manage to fend off the attack, killing off all the enemies, with only three or four tickets lost (Largely due to the fact that our CO orbitalled half the PAC when they were outside the train-cars area). Now PAC is at 20 tickets, while EU is at 5. I say again REVIVE REVIVE REVIVE over the chat. I realized that we we're gonna lose unless the bleed was off, but how we're we going to get there fast enough without 5 people dying and the bleed not taking that much out? Well, two sneaky Recons, while the attack was going on, had snuck behind enemy lines and capped BOTH Power and Eastern, so the bleed stopped. Over the catwalk my squad went, just as the PAC pushed from their uncap to Eastern. Our CO orbitalled the flag (Which PAC has gotten back), and my and one other squad naded and rocketed the area. We won the game with the end score being 1-0.
Crazily, the next round we played was Belgrade, and the score at the end ended up being 5-0 for EU again.
