Re: TG vs. TGW Scrimmage

First of all "Thank You Zoraster" for organizing this scrim. It was well planned out and well executed for both of the rounds.

Tank Squad was able to hold its own in Belgrade. As ordered, Shini and I spent most of the game on the main road repelling the enemy armor. For much of the round we just continued popping shots at the enemy to try and keep them herded into more manageable kill zones for the infantry. We were able to get a few shots on the mark with a few unlucky "lemmings" but for the most part our plan was to concede "Comm Tower" in favor of "Statue" which allowed our infantry to excel in close-quarters-combat and those squads did exceptionally well and I think the ticket count reflects that admirably.

In Mashtur City the Tank squad kept to the North of the map blocking off their approach from "Repair Station" and the two Walkers that spawned there. The server or map itself played a few mind-games with the Tank rounds I fired, some passing through targets instead of impacting and the rotating tank barrel misfired on much more than one occasion (which could also be due to the pilot - me - button mashing the Tank into confusion) That being said we were still able to keep the Northern approach clamped down and helped to rebuff a couple of their pushes to the "Cranes" flag.

Haha, I fail at critical reading. Well then, I see great minds think alike. Do I at least get brownie points for my plan being KISS?

Re: TG vs. TGW Scrimmage

I had an absolute blast! Great scrim, and a very fun opponent.

Belgrade
Running asset squads in big scrims is always sooooooooo much fun!! We finally attracted enough attention to warrant more than a few people to come and attack us, so I had my two squad members (Jazy and BarryTBaptist) hold spawn and told them we were headed to playground to help out reaper's squad. I figured we'd take playground and then head back to the UCB to cause some mayhem. Ten seconds later, I'm on the flag and the round ends! I couldn't believe how fast the rounds went!

We managed to get the EU APC twice, only to lose it quickly. It was better to take it and die than to let them have it. I had set Jazy as thorn in their commander's side as a RDX maniac, killing the assets over and over again. Barry ran his engineer kit sowing mayhem where he could. I ran around support, waiting and waiting for the APC to spawn.

Masuutar
I was in Zho's squad and we were tasked with taking cranes and then to head over and help with the center flag. Quite the lag-fest, but tossing nades and rockets is a staple to 2142, lag or no lag. We were moving onto repair station as the round ended.

A solid scrim guys, hope we can do this again sometime! Also, many many many many thanks to Zoraster, I know how much a headache these scrims can be!

I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, but remember; if you saw someone do something outstanding, write them up for a ribbon!

What a crazy fun flag to start and then the silence, but I think it because we kept it that way. Our job was to hold cranes the entire round. I was not sure what to expect so we covered the two direct routes with mines, radar and eyes, a walker on the main bridge and finally mines in the rear. The enemies initial assault was on cranes an granted while most of TG meet up there, I believe TG would have had it stuck to them if everyone in my squad had not preformed to the T. They did there jobs which was to inform the team with IDS mine and line of sight where the enemy was and during which they laid mines, shot enemies as they dropped form the rooftops, repelled the enemy transport with the saww, shot an incoming buggy with a pilum, and kept their squad leader informed in a professional manner with only tactical chat and the professionalism that you only find at TG – WELL DONE SQUAD!

A good bunch of guys with good input - this is what we decided on. The strats are posted in both WOLF and SEAL Strategy forums:

2 FAVS to SQUARE, GET WALKER, go for walker spawn first- kbk continues in 2nd FAV to back cap POND.

APC goes to SQUARE as backup.

1 Squad on foot takes MONORAIL, continues up to PLAYGOUND them pushes to COMM TOWER.

TANK to squad-bomb PLAYGROUND.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ARTY enemy Transport on Round Start.

APC to Upper Bridge to block enemy advance - 2 man squad: Engie EMP & motion mines, Support with IDS (below bridge has walkway - be on guard). APC can also hit Cranes with nades.

Transport to Cranes with 2 squads. Use rooftops for beacons and engies to drop mines.

2x FAVs to REPAIR STATION to get walkers. 1 FAV continues to Center Square, then mines both bridges with EMP and motion mines.

BE CAREFUL OF ENEMY INFANTRY ON HILL AROUND REPAIR STATION
.

Tank backs up REPAIR STATION and Center Square.

Re: TG vs. TGW Scrimmage

So, I nominated based on overall stuff. If you feel like your SL did particularly well, or if you feel like someone in your squad was a particularly good engy, etc. Please nominate them. I wasn't everywhere so I can't really monitor individual player performances.

I made the following nominations, so no one feels the need to replicate unless they want to reiterate my own:
Air Cav, Assault (remember, this is not for best assault kit playing but spearheading an attack), Armor, Defense, and Spec Ops.
