Sunday October 25th
Hey all, thought I would post an AAR of todays rounds in general as opposed to any one specifically, which have been so consistently awesome all day that it has been too much fun, losing or winning, the teamplay was exceptional. From just after 1pm pacific onwards to around 5ish when I just signed off, the rounds have been close, fun, and balanced for the most part.
I only have 3 screenshots from random times - but overall it must be said, whatever was in everyones kool aid today was creating a lot of awesome rounds.

Some Learn TG squads, squads named after various food groups, new SLs stepping up & CO's as well (Hellface to name one, GJ dude).

One pubbie going from boasting about his score and not not following orders (I almost kicked him) to working with the squad and calling out revives with the rest of us in the learn TG squad I ran the next round. All sorts of great stuff seemed to be happening today.

To all my squadmembers/squadmates thanks for making it fun. And to my enemies thanks for being there when it counted - right in my scope
Here, have some cupcakes full of awesomeness for your efforts:

That'll have been me (ZeroG_181) I've been a regular on the TG2142 server since April or possibly earlier. Keep in mind I was slightly drunk at that time which is why I was being a bit of a chatty idiot
I think it was justified when I defied your order to defend the Eastern Docks though, even if I didn't manage to save the point.

One thing you should know is that orders are orders, and not suggestions. As a squad member you can give suggestions to your SL ("Eastern's being taken Squad lead, I think I can save it, do you mind if I go?") but the final decision is theirs. If you don't like it, either suck it up or find another squad.
On that cheery note, welcome to TG .

Welcome to the forums / TG. You may have been playing on the servers regularily for a while but officially until you post here in the forums / join teamspeak etc, you are still a "pubbie" in our eyes hehe
Good having you as a squadmember, although you were definitely on the lively side (just shy of belligerent at one point haha) I'll forgive that as long as you tone down the naughty words next time. The other squadmembers that were on TS agreed that if we could focus some of your high amounts of energy and reflex killing into a focused TG squad you have a lot of potential to be a great TG player. Don't take that the wrong way though, we love unique personalities here such as yours, and having fun is still the bottom line.
As Sharingan already pointed out though, orders are orders here on TG, we try to play the game as it was meant to be played by keeping the line of command intact so that a SL must listen to CO orders, and SM's must listen to their SL's. You'll find that this increases the simulation experience and intensity of play.
I am not going to get into all the rules , make sure you check out our official Server Rules & SOP's. Definitely a must if you want to get the most of your experience on the server, and avoid any kicks / temporary bans / misunderstandings.
Again, welcome!

ZeroG, when you are on, i do notice that you are at the top of the scoreboard. (This is not permission to gloat) Ultimately you could be a very great TG player. Start posting more and what not

Hahah, it's just that I usually expect myself to perform so badly that it's surprising when I get a good score and I, being me, feel the need to comment on it

As for orders, I usually do follow them, it's just 2142 seems to allow for more deviation than other games like ArmA and PR. It's normally when we start losing badly that I act more independently and arguably more creatively. And again, if we're about to lose a point and I'm the only one available at the time to save it (Or at least hold it until more friendlies spawn there), I'll try to do so because no-one likes to lose a flag.

Welcome SHAz, I can entirely see where you are coming from. I remember one time I was new to TG and noticed that an enemy flag was empty, and I could take it all by myself... the moment I started running that way my SL was running in a different direction and told me to stick with him. I mentioned the flag was empty, and why shouldn't I take it? As far as I was concerned, where was the downside in taking a flag all by yourself, leaving the team or squad, minus only one person, to do whatever? Rather than most likely coming back to that flag later on, and it being much trickier, taking more people and deaths, to do so.
The SL was, I believe, Zhohar, and I did follow him in the end, but still felt justified in what I wanted to do. It wasn't until later I realised the benefit of leaving the flag, which was Church on Cerbere. By not going there we were, as little as it was, one man up on the push to Roadblock. Also, if the enemy did spawn at Church, they would be however many soldiers down on Roadblock, making it easier to take. Roadblock being harder to take of the two, this would be of more benefit, and anything making it easier is smart to do.
My point being, SLs can definitely have reasons that take too long to explain in such a fast paced game, as can COs. Suggesting something else is definitely encouraged - as is asking "why not?", but if you don't get an answer immediately to that, orders can always be questioned on the forums (or teamspeak) later. In the mean time, it's best to follow the order, even against your judgement, if repeated (and server rules).
