Thanks for the big welcome guys. I've had your server on my favorites for a while, just didn't have the courage to wander around on the site.

Its certainly a change going from SM to SL, and then back to SM again. The way I play varies based on my role. I played SM a couple times tonight and it was really hard to give up the captain's seat, but also somewhat of a relief. I've got way mixed feelings. =/

Another tough part i'm having is finding a balance between ordering my squad around and letting them roam free. I'm sure you can understand some of the advantages and disadvantages to both.
The other interesting situation tonight was how the game changed when choosing to defend a single map the whole game. This usually occurs when i'm on Shuhia Taiba. I'm constantly aware that there is fighting going on elsewhere and my squad wants to help out (Wether its for the teamwork or the point gain i'm not sure...:P), but when we got swamped with attackers and held our own, the choice to stick around definately paid off.
I'm sure these are discussions for other threads though. I'll see you all around

Welcome Vendi! I played in your squad tonight and find that you are doing an excellent job as SL. Talking as much as needed, commenting your orders on VOIP, situational awareness, a good shot - plus you got the fireteam setup worked out pretty well. I tend to forget who I assigned to what fireteam right after releasing the VOIP button

Hey that was a really good game, thanks for the comments too. I have to say I LOVED that squad to death, and getting you guys together to work like that really makes this game shine.
I was surprised how well you guys listened, it really made the fireteams work out. I had been wanting to try the idea for some time but never really had a squad capable of performing in such a manner. My fireteam selection pretty much consisted of the top 3 on the list being ALPHA, and the last 3 BRAVO. When we have 5 assault and 1 support its not a big deal. Playing armor maps I gotta switch it up, thats when it becomes important.

I didn't do so well SL a few games later, so I decided to focus on using armor with a 2-3 man squad for a bit. Went back to SL, had once good game, and then one horrible one because I just couldn't get my fighting down. Once i've had a break (i.e. dinner) ill get back to it and work on getting a coherent squad together. =D

I'm totally with Vendi here guys greatest server i've ever played on. I'm pretty new but from what I can see this is a awesome place to play with even better people to play with, thanks guys.

Great first post !!

I know I'm in the 2142 forum but don't forget to look around at the other games TG is supporting. You'll find the teamwork you write about in your post is a common and expected them all around TG. Of course you know about POE2 and PRM but we also run other excellent servers for the likes of COD2, Armed Assault and Counterstrike to name just a small handful.

Wow I had no idea you were taping that one, big thanks though - its fun to hear myself on there. That was a real close game, we coulda had it. Watching that the biggest thing that struck me is knowing where you guys are, I try to do a good job of it but sometimes I get caught up either waiting somewhere or being too far forward.

I wish I started recording earlier. The whole round was pretty frantic. Not as good as some, but still interesting. I had some pretty bad lag last night. You can see Vendi, sliding across the ground for a while.

I need to rerender the video to make it clearer, and get rid of the swear word.

I think I was with ya during the crazy transport adventures. Some good times. Though when we were sniping I wish I had brought the Lambert instead of the normal sniper rift. Could have gotten more kills that way.

I was with a different team during Tunis and that was a pretty good game. My team was holding one of the flags and I was covering a choke point.
