4/11 Night...or how I learned to hate Berlin!
Ok, so I jump on for a casual game of 2142 and pop into Verdun. Not seeing a great deal of TG on my team, I form an LTG. Things are good, I pick up a few new TGers and the pubbies start to float in. We do a respectable job of holding the West Village. All an all a good warm up....
Then the fit hits the shan in Berlin!
Starting a new series of maps, and with TG regulars showing up, I choose the 7th RNGR approach vs. the LTG. Again, some fairly new TGers and pubbies make for a nice starting squad. I start out with my patented, "Cloak up the middle" approach (which surprises me that no one has caught onto yet!!!) and easily penetrate to the road block. Troops spawn in and the heroic charge of the 7th Rangers (reserves) rain glorious death and destruction on the sole defender <insert HUGE evil grin here>. I meanwhile continue my bold advance to the square, meeting NIL opposition if I might add, and plop my tired butt down on the flag. My brave comrades (sorry can't remember names) of the oppressed people's regime hold the roadblock valiantly for 10 - 15 seconds, then are gloriously reborn on the square to deal another crushing defeat to the capitalistic warmongers of the EU.
My break over, I again proceeded in a non stop run to the Outpost, casting aside the feeble attempt of the EU APC to stop me; and again, my brothers in arms hold the square to the man and join me at the Outpost approximately 15 seconds later
At this point I am tired of running, yes yes, I know what you are thinking; "Experiment626....TIRED?!!? The marathon runner of Moscow and his pirated Nike Just-Do-It light armor???? Tovarich, say it aint so!" Yes, my friends, WE IS STAYIN HERE! So, being the humble SL that I am, I glanced at the minimap comfortable in the knowledge that the rest of our People's Revolutionary Army have spawned in behind our glorious charge; reinforcing my belief in "the struggle"...workers! WE ARE WITH YOU!!!.....NOT!!!!! I quickly came to the realization that myself and my comrades were about to experience that age old American tradition of "the ALAMO". For the remainder of the round, I threw my valiant defenders of the plow against the onrushing tea totters and schnapps drinkers. Cursing them with every breath, hoping against hope that, my fellow party members would break through to us and rescue us from their cursed rocket bombardments and devious infiltrators (AEROSECURITY!!!) We were winning!! We had crushed the enemy’s headquarters of decadence and decay only to be abandoned to our fate as martyrs for the cause
Despite the efforts of my fellow squad mates, we cold not link up! And then the EU dealt us the final blow. The traitors of the revolution, the Cossacks of the plains were dispatched to put the nail in our coffin. |TG-7th| Birdie and his double cursed band of rocket whores arrived on the field, thus finishing our last chance at salvation. Too late I learned that we were led into a trap. *sniff* I have failed you rodina...*sniff* Dasvadana....
(P.S. IF you don't follow the gist of this, our team was #&$%!@* useless...but I still had a blast!)
Part 2, The Charge of the Light Brigade....forth coming.

don't you hate that? whenever i capture that back flag i immediately start to jabber uselessly at the commander to get the other squads up there pronto, but it's often to no avail.

I find the most important thing to bring back there is an engineer that quickly blocks off the APC and Walker coming in from outpost - or Square and Roadblock are practically lost before you even capured them

Yes, the mighty guards of the square squashed the futile attempts of the invisible parasites from their newly acquired hive that used to be our Outpost.

Easy on the sauce there, experiment. Only one bottle a night for you, now.

OMG, I remember this! Man, that was so much fun infiltrating Outpost. Apparently my strong point is extreme infiltration. But every single time, I got overpowered by the non-stop stream of communist reinforcements. If you had given me an millimeter, I would have had outpost all to myself!
umm... hello?

From where I stood, (and mind you I was standing pretty close), you were holding up great. One of the best single squad defenses I've ever tried to penetrate

Actually, all the while, I was wondering where my teammates were...little did I know that they were raining rockets upon me. TK'ed me 3 times I think.umm... hello?
