    Tried CO Today

It was the first time I had COed for awhile, and one of my first times COing since BF2. The first round went so fabulously that I kept COing for several afterward.

I'd just like to throw out a thank you to all the SLs that put up with my banter. I did not realize you could hit "V" with one squad selected to talk to one particular SL, nor did I keep in mind that brevity is key. I think I did a semi-okay job the first few rounds, but later on I definitely started to falter. Regardless, I had a blast, and I hope you guys did as well!

Apologies for any UAVs or other abilities that did not come quickly enough. Either they were recharging, or in the UAV's case, I got caught up in other aspects of command. I need to get used to keeping a constant eye on that UAV meter again, as I once did in BF2.

Those were great games, and if anyone has any advice, please let me know. I've read the guide to COing thread tonight and learned a few lessons through it, especially when put into context of how I COed today (I noticed several mistakes I made immediately upon reading it, including "suggesting" and "asking for volunteers" for orders, and talking too much - both of which I will work on). Still, I'd really appreciate constructive criticism and praise from anyone that has had experience with my COing (either today or in the future), so I can learn what to do more and what to do less when I CO. I want to become a good CO for TG, particular since they are apparently in such short supply. So come on, folks - give me your worst.

    Re: Tried CO Today

i only played under you for one round today, but you seemed to do well. the other rounds i played commander opposite you (speaking of which, for the next couple of weeks i'll be limited to mostly commanding as i have access to only a very marginal computer).

Keep up the good work! TG needs as many competent commanders as possible. TG works best when the teamwork is flowing on all levels... Squad members, Squad members and commanders.

Also, I should have included this in my guide. Developing a thick skin can be necessary for COing. COs are the favorite boogeyman of SLs (this includes me!). When things go pear shaped, you'll find some annoyed voices on the other end of the VoiP -- and i promise what they're saying to their squad members is worse! It's part and parcel of the job though, so a thick skin can be very handy.

Apologies that this wasn't in the right place. I figured after I posted it maybe I should have had it in After Action instead. Looks like I was right. Now if I can just get into the habit of thinking that BEFORE I post, rather than after.

Thanks Zoraster. And yeah, I noticed the thick skin thing today. The SL tones were icey later in the day, when we were not doing so well.
