Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - After Action Reports - Fun on Pub Servers - Our server was full, I decided to hit a 32 man Suez Canal Titan Server.

    Fun on Pub Servers

    Our server was full, I decided to hit a 32 man Suez Canal Titan Server. First round I came in with the titan already down 3 consoles without even breaching the others shields. I played defense on the titan for the duration, it was short lived. Next 2 rounds where just amusing. We lost each, but I had so much fun. I created just a one man squad and went asset blowing recon. I racked up a crap load of strategic points. Killed one guy by the name of Kyton about 10 different times with APMs and quick bursts as he chased me countless times trying to find me. I think he got me 3 times, twice by just unloading while in an APC. Luckily both rounds there was a commander who kept my supplied. But the crowning moments, were when I had the only gunship trying to find me in their compound trying to shoot me. He spent probably 5 minutes chasing me around, which means he wasn't harrasing the other squads. I have to hand it too him, he was a good sport about it. He finally got me on the Gunship pad at Inner Bridgelock. When he finally got me, he actually got out came up to my body and said "Sorry Man". Damn I know I was frustrating the hell out of him, but he took it all in stride. Commander was even telling me they were still looking for me, even when I was dead and working my way up forward. At least 3-4 men at one time looking, then giving up about the time I would show back up again. All in all, it was just fun. I love the squad play on here, but once in a while it is just fun to be a huge thorn in someones side all by yourself.

    Always love doing stuff like that. Last night Gloop, Raliegh and I went gunship pubbing on a Titan server too. We were utterly decimating them for like 3 rounds, then they realized it was the gunship killing them and pulled out all stops to kill us, AA, Walkers, missiles, Titan missiles (more me trying to scare Gloop), and good old ramming.

    Playing Titan makes me wanna see a TG Titan server even more!

    Good Times...Good Times.

    This was really fun because I was creeping around like a special ops agent taking out enemies on the ground (knifing those pesky AA whores is always good for a laugh) and spotting enemy gunships and other targets while they were ruling the skies.

    It was good for them to have eyes on the ground but it was also great for me to have my own personal airstrike that I could call in at a moments notice.

    Anospa actually succeeded in making me feel ill on one of his maneuvers, and that wasn't one of the ones that ended badly. Highlights of our gunship fun include Anospa landing on our titan deck to repair/rearm, and then backflipping off to resume flying. Yeah, I don't know how either. He also successfully threaded the needle on one of those little vehicle huts that house the tanks on Sidi before smacking into a tree immediately on the other side.

    All in all a fun night with an amazing pilot!

    Hahhaha, yeah, I'm gonna find the BR file of that because I'm pretty sure we shoulda died. We were landed on in the bay, and then slowly turning on the side, so I goosed the throttle to hopefully right us, and then all of a sudden, we're 25 feet above the Titan flying away. There were so many close calls, we had about two hot landings with about 15 armor left, and then two where I thought we were "OK" with 4 left on the pad but blew before we could get repaired.

    I wanna get Hockey in here to comment on the other night that I was flying on Shuhia. Two gunships + gravity vs Hockey and I, victors, me (Hockey chickened out and bailed while I was booking it through central). I have no clue how were alive half the times and wanna see if he knows/saw what happened.

    I took Hockey for a ride down the length of the bridge in Suez Canal from Outer to Inner. I think there was an enemy tank on the bridge as well that I avoided. Just like in the 2142 intro movie.

    Hahaha, nice. Flying through that is always fun, though I love people that do it while you're chasing. Just get to the end and wait and boom!

    Myself and some of the other 21st went to a Pub server and attacked their Titan and destroyed it after about 2 minutes. Just incase you care to enjoy here's the vid. http://files.filefront.com/Titan_Rai.../fileinfo.html It was GREAT!

    Yeah, I've found out before that those trees will do anything to get in your way... flying along and suddenly one jumps in front of you, or it warps space and time to place itself in your path. Had it happen to me while driving buggies as well.

    Heh, to be honest, I didn't consider the fact there was a tree on the other side until we were past the hut. In other tree related news, was gunning for Jonan on the titan server yesterday, and things were going great, until this one lone tree got in our way on Minsk. Its funny, there are trees everywhere on that map, but we were making a nice looping turn along the ground in a relatively clear area, and bam! a tree.
