Re: MIA/DIG vs. TG Scrimmage

WOW I am so impressed by the plan, with pictures for everything, going down to the detail of where to put motion mines. Love it.

Yes, I was also impressed with the ammount of planning that went into something like this and the abilities of the commanders and sl's to adjust on the fly to the ever changing battlefield. It was an awesome experience.

Yes they were. They were also on top of the Northwest building at playground. The pod spinning made it very difficult to defend because they were constantly flying over head and landing on top of building.

Re: MIA/DIG vs. TG Scrimmage

I reviewed some of the footage I shot during the scrim and I should be able to make a nice vid out of it. I'll start the editting later tonight. From a spectators perspective I have to say that I was impressed by the play of the TG team. There were more than a few instances where a TG squad would be far out numbered but still manage to push foward. I just hope my video will do credit to the great game that it was.

The Trials and Tribulations of Squad 2: Video AAR

I'm not so pleased with my performance on the first match. I've recently started playing with the shotgun more, and decided to give it a go during the match for a while. For this match I prolly should have just stuck with the Ganz, as it is much more familiar to me.

We were hectically running around quite a bit between playground and monorail, and didn't really get in a groove.

Scrim match 1 ~300MB

The second match I'm much happier with. We were able to execute better from our positions, and I was able to do my job more efficiently. Although, I need to listen to my sargeant when he tells me to look both ways before crossing the road. Ferris, I'd appreciate my jaw back when you can find time to scrape it from that buggy bumper. I even managed to spawn in to a knifer on my SL, and scrape him off of Damonte's back, which I found pretty funny. I almost managed to eek out Bom for the highest teamwork score that round, which we ended up tieing.

Scrim match 2 ~250MB

Both of these videos have very little editing work, because I wanted to present the whole round as it was experienced and so that if someone decides to take all the "camera angles" and make one spiffy vid up they can easily compare footage with no gaps timewise. I did use a few tricks to try and get the scores more readable at the end (those red names on the board at the end are the bane of FRAPS.) Please take the time to download the files if you can, the video quality is much much better then the little flash viewer they have embedded on that page.

Re: MIA/DIG vs. TG Scrimmage

No promises on the whole jaw, but I could probably get you a couple teeth. The buggy rushing after the initial push was the hardest part. We had so many people in the road that most of my effort was put into NOT teamkilling people. I think you were my only casualty waffle.

Yeah, if you watch the vid, I'm trying to get back to my squad and make way to the ruins flag where we're supposed to defend. And I'm seeing the walker over the wall, thinking to myself, "gotta avoid the walker, don't wanna get stepped on." And thenn all of a sudden, buggy out of nowhere. squish. Absolutely my fault for running out in the road like an idiot, but pretty funny nonetheless. Sorry 'bout the neg 5.

Wow, that was a lotta mines we had down up near playground. I didn't really think much about it, but seeing it, jeez.

Re: MIA/DIG vs. TG Scrimmage

Waffle's videos are very nice. High resolution and wide screen.

You can see the ticket count progress throughout each game, and note how devastating the bleed was on the second round versus the first.

Also note how the road was locked up tight in the second round, too. In all, Squad 2 (my squad) did pretty well. There were some things we (which pretty much means I) could have done better, but that's what AAR's are meant to reveal.

Thanks for the fine videos Waffle.

Driver to the Mortar whore > Ammo whore. Why else would Bom drive the APC?

Whats funny is I was also trying to avoid the walker, saying to myself "you need the buggy at full health...dont ram the walker...dont ram the walker...", and then as soon as I got a clear shot, I hit the boost and plowed into you.

Oh I know, that Bom guy, always going on about how many points he gets. And he's always scamming all the free rides.

And, yes, I'm a card-carrying member of Ammo-Whore & IDS-Dropper's Union Local #304. The dues are kinda high, but the death insurance benefits are great.

Re: MIA/DIG vs. TG Scrimmage

Fortunately, Waffle, you don't have to cash in on your death insurance too often. The 3rd likes to keep their ammo-humpers alive and well, given our great fondness for rockets and 'nades.

By the way, do we all get a shiny ribbon for this?

There is still a bit of backlog to address. The admins may be working this in chronological order, presenting the more recent campaigns after the backlog is addressed.
