Another thing you may want to try is to slow down, relax and buddy up with someone that you know will have your back like you'll have theirs.

Also, a lot of people think you need to engage everyone and everything you see as soon as you see them. This ins't true and once you break this habbit (if you have it that is) you'll see an increase in your kills and a decrease in your deaths. Learning when not to fire is as hard or harder than learning how to fire.

Here's something else to try if you play assault: try playing with the gun that gives you the most problems for a few days. When you start getting comfortable with it, try switching back to your favorite rifle and I bet you'll see a noticeable increase in your skill right away.

To sum up: buddy up, hold your fire when appropriate, and practice with a weapon that challenges you the most.

Being tense and stressed is the number one killer of Augustus Gloop. I play best when I'm not concerned about how I'm doing, and not worried that I'll get pwnd. My thinking is clear, and I don't get the tunnel vision that causes me to charge into overwhelming odds. I'm much more able to keep situational awareness, and get the drop on others, rather than let them get the drop on me.

When you start freaking out about how you're doing, sit back and take a few deep breaths. Try and keep in mind that you're not supposed to be competing with others, you should be improving your own game.

One day, try to play ultra cautiously, and never put yourself in a situation where you would be out gunned. Next day, play balls to the wall. Try and mix it up a lot so you don't get stale.

umm, i guess every day is the next day for me

but I totally agree, you need to find your niche in any game. Lets face it, I could never play like Augustus Gloop, or any other TG player here. I have my own style (which tends to run me into entire squads solo), but that's how i play, and how i have fun (challenging myself).

You just have to find out where you fit in.

I do like to talk a lot about squadplay on TG, but playing on the servers is hell for me because of my super high ping (based on my location), and it doesn't help that its 52 players. Forgive me TGers but I spend much more time on SquadPlay server, because its European, and I suffer much less lag. Maybe you should try other servers and see if you're shot is as abd as you think it is, because i've never gotten more than 2 kills on a full TG server, (i own when all of you are at work and in England I can play when there are only a few people on the server, i pwn with less than 20 people, always come top) but I usually get about 20 - 30 teamwork points. Try focusing on this more, because if you're surrounded by good shots, sometimes, someone just resupplying, or looking out for the team, or sitting back, especially if its the SL, is just what you need.

I'd like to give you a little incite since I remember you shooting me from behind and myself turning around putting 3 shots in you, and your dead. You emptied your entire clip only taking me down to around 60 health and you were right behind me LMAO. You didn't aim (left mouse) and you were walking. I have found to get the most perfect shots off you must be crouched and of course aiming. I aim right at the heart and feather the shots off. Going prone seems much less accurate unless you are using a sniper rifle. Never EVER just keep firing until your clips gone, that only kills if your 3 feet away. I believe when I shoot I don't hold the mouse button for more then half a second at a time. You can kill three people a clip this way once in a while, but not often. Maybe you should try using AutoHotKey. It help me when I was learning, but still not as good as the feathering method.

Very true. Anyone who's played in a clan match before know's this for sure. You'll go into a pub where you don't care at all and destroy everyone, but once you get into a match were it matters, you get a psyched out and can't play worth crap.

If you think your running into this in a pub. I suggest unbinding the scoreboard button. Sometimes you'll get all caught up in the scoreboard when it really doesn't matter. If you unbind it you can't use it, and you'll learn to play where you don't give a crap about it.

Yh, this happens to me. Whenever I'm in a squad full of TGers, I get nervous of having to prove myself, then when I'm on the TG servers early, I'm like always top. This is also probably down to more players being on and more lag, and laos slightly more skilledf players, but there are usually quite a few brig. generals about.

hey, ive seen posts here about problems with accuracy given by ping.

thats my problem, when i get on a good server and have like no lag, im fine, i tend to get near top of the scoreboard a hell of a lot more, but when im on a laggy server, or if i have high ping, i do terrible, because of the shots going all over the place, and bullet lag and such.

:/ i hate my pc and internet, i hate my area for having other people who whore counter strike (the gays) on high graphics... but oh well.
