I haven't used the herzog much as rockets seem to be a better choice on most boards. If I am running in a close combat squad I have used the herzog and had good results. Rockets were pretty useless when in a squad that likes to get up close and personal with the other team. I wouldn't take the 'zog in maps like Suez and Verdun since the first contact distances can be a good ways away.
