Herzog vs. Clark
I can't find any stats on the Herzog, but I've recently started to use it regularly. Does anyone know how it compares to the Clark?
By the way, this isn't a discussion on how assault shotty ammo is better used for rockets. ![]() |

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
I'm not a big user of shotguns, but when I do use them I noticed a few differences between the two. The Herzog has a faster ROF than the Clark, but the Clark's ROF is increased in the next patch. The Clark's ammo clip is much larger (double I think) than the Herzog, which can be useful against larger groups of enemies. I use the Herzog more like a powerful alternative to the pistol than a primary weapon. You could also think of what role you want to play on the battlefield when deciding between the two. With the Herzog, you can change to the assault rifle to engage longer ranged targets, while the Clark in the support kit doesn't provide you the ability to engage at longer ranges. Just my two cents.

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
thanks to pedestrian for this one:
The Herzog fires 12 pellets with a max damage of 10 each with a deviation of 1.4. It also has a ROF of 150 RPM and 4 clips with 3 shells per clip. It also starts to lose damage after 10 meters. The clark also fires 12 pellets doing maximun 12 damage each with a deviation of 1.2. It's ROF is 90 RPM (This is raised in patch 1.4). It has 6 mags with 7 shells per mag. The clark also doesn't start losing damage until 12 meters. It takes 120 points of damage to kill someone in heavy armour so to 1 shot kill someone with the herzog you'd have to hit every pellet in the chest or head with the clark you have a little room to breath on that point. So while the Herzog can be useful in some situations its no clark. Overall I don't think it's really worth giving up rockets for.

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
I used to think that until I got better at both using them and avoiding them. Now, I don't go assault without my trusty rockets.

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
I think the Herzog is underrated. Granted I go with rockets 80% of the time, but on some maps it's darn useful. Launching rockets is like putting up a big neon sign where you're at, and a return volley usually occurs.
Sometimes the action is so thick I don't have time to break out rockets, and am constantly running out of ammo for CQB. In those situations, the Herzog makes you a CQB machine. 4 rounds of Herzog is 2 kills + your full assault rifle magazine. |

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
SCAR 11 rifle with Herzog shotfun addon is my new fav combo for mostly infantry maps, such as Gibraltar, Cerbere Landing and Tunis Harbor. The rockets get used for everything else (along with other guns :P ) and they sure do their job. I imagine my like for the Clark 15 will increase with the next patch because for now, I mostly die from the delay of fire from the Clark whenever I shoot it when playing Support

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
there is a big difference between rocket spam and using rockets to your full advantage by delivering four rockets into know places where the enemy hides. the more people you shoot at the more rockets you are going to need and I shoot at a lot of people

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
you do know that if you zoom in on a wall it sets the range for that wall, and if you do never adjust or one or two clicks, those babies are 2m a pop

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
Reaper is right, aim at a wall or an object, THEN zoom in. It will be dialed at that object's range.
There are times where it's so hot that the Herzog really helps. For me, a number of times where it made the difference of the whole squad being revived or perishing. Plus, if you have 3 other medics in your squad, they probably all have rockets. ![]() |

Re: Herzog vs. Clark
Gator is right. The other day I was in a squad with some 3rd members, and EVERYONE had rockets, so I was content using my Herzog in CQC. Even when I didn't get a one shot kill, it was easy enough to pop out, shoot, pop back in, switch to Baur, and finish 'em off. Headshots are lovely with this thing.
I'm liking what everyone is saying about the shotgun for support, I think I'll unlock the Clark next, in time for the upcoming patch. |
