Hi guys I'm new to Battlefield 2142 and Tactical Gamer. I just got the game and it's awesome! I have been playing every chance I get and even a lot when I have better stuff (work) to do .

I am a Warrant Officer Gold and I have been progressing pretty slowly. I want to and I will get better though!

Welcome Milkman! I'm sort of new too and can already tell you that if you enjoy playing 2142 then you found the best place to do it! TG sets a new standard in gaming. You will not be able to play on other servers now without seeing all the flaws and inadequacies. I look forward to squading up with you!

If I could give one piece of advice to a certain little fudge when he first discovered the TG server, it would be to not be afraid to talk on the mic and ask questions. I think our server is much more challenging to play on than most, and people shouldn't get discouraged or worry that they can't compete. If you stick with it, soon all the other servers will seem too easy.

I found this site just searching for general 2142 information actually, and just found out you have servers. I'm going to put them on my favorites right now.

I love knife servers and my favorite game mode is Titan. I use a Logitech 350 Premium USB headset, but the cord is really crappy so my mic doesn't work. Will I still be allowed on the TG servers without a mic?

I read the rules and all that, you guys are really organized (I like that).

When I joined TG in June, it was solely to play 2142. I liked it so much I ponied up for the supporting membership. Such a bargain - there are so many other games supported here that if you get sick of one, you can pop in a diff game and the community and spirit of game play that you enjoy is still there.

The various forums and wikis are a huge compendium of collected knowledge and experience. There are also some cool videos kicking around. It's worth poking around a bit.

Yes, you can still be a productive member of the battlefield. Just make sure you are "Spotting" the enemy and respond to orders given to you using the Affirmative "Page UP" and Negative "Page Down".

As your enjoying yourself, please give getting a mic. due consideration. With a mic. you can also join us on our Team Speak server, and be part of the camaraderie that goes on during and in between rounds.

LOL. I had the same headset, it was a true POS. The mute button was in the most inopportune location and the left ear piece would cut in and out constantly. I believe I had them for a month or two before I tossed them and bought something half the price that worked (Plantronics). The logictech set did have nice pickup and sidetone, which the Plantronics severly lack.

That's really what TeamSpeak is all about, that and whispering sweet nothings to each other till the wee hours of the morning.
