West Coast Players

I know we have a few (and West Coast Canadians, eh!), so I was wondering just how many Pacific people we got here.

Re: West Coast Players

I'm usually on at 9:00pm. Oh, you mean 2142...

I wonder if having our servers more centrally located would help expand the West Coast player base.

Re: West Coast Players

Doing so would make it even more difficult on the Europeans, would it not?

Re: West Coast Players

When I can afford to free up some fundage, I would love to sponsor a West Coast server (based in Los Angeles of course, hehe.)

Or you could all come to my place, I get an avg. ping of ~10~.

Of course, you'd have to behave yourselves.

10!?!?!? *drool*

Where do you live? I'll bring the beer!

(Ping on TG servers for me is typically 180-250+)

Wow. You must be 1 hop from the datacenter! I'm up here in Northeastern Ohio and my ping is ~35.

Re: West Coast Players

35!? Wow, I drool over anything below 150! LOL

It makes such a huge difference too. When I usually play, I'm at 150-200+, my accuracy is 45%-55% while sniping.

When the ping drops to the 80's-90s, my accuracy jumps to 65%-75% (that's running and gunning with a sniper rifle + ambush sniping, NOT just camping.)

I can only imagine 35 ping or lower *drool*

Wow, that's high. The Battlefield servers are in Virginia and I usually get 75-100 from here in San Diego. I've been considering GameRail to get those lowered. Have you complained to your ISP? I'm on RoadRunner.

My ISP is Verizon DSL, so when I call customer service, I get a recording that says, "Welcome to Verizon Customer Service. Because we're Verizon, kindly f*** off because we don't give a sh**. Have a nice day!"

Roadrunner Cable just became available in the area I'm in within the past year or so (at the edge of LA, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside county. Yes, they all meet in ONE city!), but it's cost prohibitive at the moment, so I have to wait until I can budget it in. I'm not sure it will be MUCH better, but at least I know it will be better.

Game Rail gave me 5-15 lower ping on most servers, where it wasn't higher BECAUSE of Game Rail. Wierd, huh? If I got a decent ISP with cable, I'm sure Game Rail would actually help.
