Why the delay...

I was on for a while this past Saturday and I managed to get my score to get awarded gold master sgt. But the game never registered the promotion until Monday evening when I logged in to play. I was over halfway to my next rank when the promotion went through.

Just wondering if someone at EA has to verify the promotion or what. It seems strange that a real live person has to authorize the promotion. Anyone know if is the case?

It seems like you have to play past a rank, log out, log in again later on, then continue play more before it will register the new rank and unlock. I'm not sure why, but I doubt that a real person has to verify it. It takes this long for me with each new rank I get.

For me I always get a <Choose Unlock> button immediately after a promotion. It depends on how the server is set up and how backloged EA servers are. During high population periods the EA server can hiccup quite a bit and lead to losing or missing information until things catch up.

Well, I logged out and back in several times on Saturday to hopefully to get it to register my promotion and it did not work. Many times it will immediatly give me a promotion when I get the points for it, but then sometimes it will hold the promotion as it did this weekend, sometimes for a day, sometimes for several days.

If you are like me, I almost always play on the TG server, you have to go to another server and kill someone. Then it will register. Then go back to the TG server. Not sure why, but I have had to do this a few times.

I had the same problem back in bf2, but I haven´t had it at all in 2142.

E.A. are glitchy, they make glitchy games, it happens to everyone (well I dunno about everyone, but it happened to me), no worries.

(Btw, unless it's unavoidable DO NOT exit a match half-way through if you are doing well. You will lose all your points, and badges/ribbons/pins/medals you might have earned, or any rank-ups. This is because E.A. collect your score and every of your other stats (including TKs

) and add it to your total at the end of every round, so after the map for the next round has loaded, then you can exit 2142 with your points/etc. intact THIS NEEDS VERIFICATION, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THIS IS CORRECT)

I haven't had this problem of not getting points for rounds halfway completed. I have quit in the middle of rounds after getting badges or pins etc. And when i play the next day, my last three awards are as they were in the middle of my previous match. It might be hit or miss, but i have checked and it seemed to recognize my stats just fine.

Awards are awarded as you recieve them. However some medals and ribbons won't be awarded till the end of the match. Other things, such as Titan Survivor and CO multiplier, are also only given after the match is over.

In fact, if you were to get promoted in a match you can immediately choose an unlock as soon as it is recognized by the EA server.

The only exception to that could be kick/temp bans made by punkbuster and/or admins. When I've been kicked from a server it seems like a 50/50 chance the server dumps my information or sends it on to EA. That's the problem with playing on TG servers really. You get so much good practice other servers will kick you because you have a 20:1 K/D ratio with a tank at 200 yards. Harumph.

I have also had this problem, but eventually it seems to right itself. Sometimes I'll get the rank on the spot, sometimes later. Same with the unlocks.
