Team Balance and Fun for All!

As everyone knows, it's fun to run roughshod over the other team, and know that your skill and tactics just obliterated them. Fun, for a little while anyway. When you see this happen for a couple rounds, think to yourself a couple deep thoughts:

How would it feel if I was on the whooping end of this for game after game, and nothing was done about it?

How will I ever improve if the enemy doesn't stand a chance?

Is this the TG way?

If you're in an IHS squad, and it's full of your good buddies, consider splitting it down the middle, half of you swapping teams, and then really trying to stick it to your former friends! Make a point of hunting them down and pwning them!

If you're one of the top scorers for your team, scything down noobs like wheat, move on to harder prey. Swap teams to the losing one, and do your best to stem the tide single handedly.

Glory isn't won by being on the winning side, glory is won by being the squad deep in enemy territory with bullets whizzing all around, and orders screamed over the sound of orbitals striking just overhead. Take pride in supporting the team that lost last round, because it makes for a better game on both sides. Always be that person who switches to help out the losing team, and you will win the best kind of reputation.

If you try and switch, but can't, page an admin to swap you manually. I'm more than happy to help out folks that want to make our server better. And I remember your names.

Thanks.

I couldn't have said it better. Victory tastes best in small doses.

Re: Team Balance and Fun for All!

Good post Gloop! I've been on both sides of 200 point margins and really neither is as fun as a 1-0 victory.

I think its' more fun to win by the skin or our teeth, reviving every teammate we can find, struggling for every kill, all while quoting Khan from Star Trek II under our breath.

Thanks for all the +rep folks, but this is really a reminder for me too. Eroak and PromQueen, and many others have been pushing this issue for a long time. Thanks should go to them.

Somehow I always end up where all of the 8th is one side and I'm "stuck" on the other side by myself. It's always fun to go after my "friends" in the 8th for a nice blessing. Makes for some great videos

I always end up on the losing side somehow, which sucks because I'm more of a handicap than anything

I don't mind switching...but I do dislike it when I switch and nobody talks or works as a team...which most of the time is the exact reason why they are getting spanked in the first place.

Sometimes you have to jumpstart that sort of thing. I get people to respond somehow, even if it's just hitting the pageup or pagedown in response to questions, and then you're golden.

I'm glad to see that there are a few players who have the same mentality as me, regarding the underdog side. It's far more rewarding to beat overwhelming odds, than to be the overwhelming odds.
