Yeah...my best guess was more like "daw-ti," but I figured I was wrong, as it's been a long while since I studied pronounciation. Something about broad and narrow vowels and a bajillion dipthongs... Anyhow, thanks for clarifying. And, for the record, Irish accents are awesome.

Re: The Player Name Pronounciation Thread

This is a great thread. +rep to Arithea for starting it. Strangely enough, your name is one I never had any trouble with.

Mine is easy - just Spiff. As in Spaceman Spiff, from the comic Calvin and Hobbes.

I will, on occasion, answer to "Spliff", depending on how stoned I am...

Pfeil gets butchered a lot. I'm not even going to try Daithi - you're BigD from now on man. Eroak gets a good one now and then -

We were playing Carebear Landing and someone (not in the 9th - I don't remember who) starts yelling - "I killed Air-o-wak, I killed Air-o-wak."

And I'm like - Who the f**k is Air-o-wak???

It took me a minute to figure it out. And then I LMAO.

Re: The Player Name Pronounciation Thread

This has been an extremely helpful thread. Air O Wak. hah.

My name should be pretty obvious, but you'd be surprised at how many people don't call me "BB" and use "Gun" instead.

This becomes problematic when a SL will start saying "GUN OVER HERE" or "GUN BEHIND YOU", etc. My first thought when this is said is "pfft...I got plenty of guns"

BB please.

Re: The Player Name Pronounciation Thread

Mine is, "Ah Sh#T!" or "Cr*P", which occurs just after I shoot someone. Another one I seem to get lately is, " Naw...was that really Experiment??" Jeez, guys, it's only been about 6 months!

Is that *Shin-ee* or *Shine-ee*??? Asking because I've been calling you *Shin-ee* but the way you typed it looks like *Shine-ee*.

Those things that swim can be spelled "ghoti": "gh" as in "enough", "o" as in "women", and "ti" as in "nation".

Never, you Death God

I'm guessing you don't have much problem pronouncing my name, right?

I'm pretty you're already pronouncing it the right way, unless I'm mistaken.

Re: The Player Name Pronounciation Thread

Although it sometimes surprises me, occasionally people mispronounce my name. It's Fred Gwynne. "Fred" "Gwin." Like the actor. Except with 38% more whoop ass. And 17% more whoops.

Re: The Player Name Pronounciation Thread

My turn, my name never gets pronounced properly. Everybody calls me concrete, but that's just plain wrong. Theres a 3 in my name too you know. From now on, everybody should call me:

Concr-three-tee or Concr-three'd but I'll be nice and you can skip the r after Con.
