Shock Absorber Boot

After making my account and going for all the non northern strike player unlocks (I wanted to get them out of the way now), but after thinking it over I am not sure if I really need them. Are the shb worth getting?

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

All I can think of for them to be useful is jumping off high objects and taking less "world" damage. Maybe the speed boost.

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

Personally, I ran out of the other "passive" (always present, like the extended clips or increased cloak time) unlocks, so I just chose the boots to feel like I accomplished something. I really haven't noticed anything dramatic, but I guess they do do their job.

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

They increase your stamina regen, decrease the stamina cost for jumping, and increase the minimum height for fall damage.

All in all a good unlock and well worth it for the increased stamina regen if nothing else.

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

Quick Test: In light armor I proceeded to walk off the edge at, tested with my AzuraRising and my ALT who has not yet unlocked booties

Cerebere Landing: Command Center, the ledge underneath the flag area and above where the FAV spawns in.

With booties: My health dropped to 80
Wihout booties: My health dropped to 69

'nuff said!

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

The boots also add about 1/4 extra to the little sprint box by your kit, so with light armour and sprint unlocks it ends up full

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

The boots I think are a good idea. They not only allow you to jump from a little higher distance without taking to much damage but I find out they are really good for keeping the noise level down. You will be able to run a little quieter and that means better sneaking for the knife kill.

Not bad, and these may have saved me a few days ago (Going from South Town to Office Ruins on Cerbere...and dying from the two jumps...(hey people, look, I had to be quick and the parachute would've slowed me down, I used to do those jumps all the time and survive in my pub days...It's TGs fault it is...)I'm guessing from how hard Lorax was laughing he remembers that...thank God there's no BR )

Re: Shock Absorber Boot

Some more booties fun! On the tip top of Command Center at Cerebere Landing, if you walk off the top (Not Jump) and aim yourself at those spires/ledges surrounding the base. You will take 98 damage. If you jump you will die, just as if you miss!

I'm assuming you mean the top, like, all the way up the ladder. If it is then that's...well...interesting. I would say I'll try and remember this, but when I'm about to go off the top of Command Center, I think I'll be tapping spacebar like crazy, as opposed to be thinking, "what was Azura saying about not jumping off but positioning myself." , obviously the Terminator can keep a cooler head than I can .
