I believe you misunderstood. The bit about the sniper SL was semi-out of context. Thus in parenthesis, though it still led to my sniper disdain. Remove the parenthesis from the sentence to see my original intent.

Don't sweat it... I don't think any of us were seriously thinking you run around fragging useless SL's... Although I have been tempted at times. Our posts were out of jest.

I've got somewhere in the high 600s. Before TG, I only played sniper, so had to get good with the other two weapons for when people are close to you.

That being said, I barely pull my knife out anymore, though I will if I see the opportunity to take out a few people; 1 hit 1 kill is a nice thing to have and its quiet too.

I nabbed 329 tags since i got the game last Christmas. Nothing feels better then winning a knife fight in BF2142 ^.^

I wouldn't know to be honest - the only time I ever knife/duel is when the server is waiting to be seeded and I never win even though I'm swinging like a frantic windmill in a hurricane blowing through a narrow valley in a country called Panic-assgar in the middle of "flingy season".

I think I have an oxygen-shaddow blade that kills wraiths but passes straight through humans

hhahaha, definetly gotta get rid of those pesky wraiths, mind you. there's some pretty good articles out there on how to properly knife fight on BF2142, helped me so much. like swing for where hes moving, not directly at him, to take into account ping time.

I swear heavy armour can block knives sometimes. I remember when we were pissing about with knives before the tgvsmg scrim and I knived one of them, like, 3 times. You could even here the flesh-hitting sound, but he didn't die :O

When it happens to me I tell myself I've hit him but not critically XD.. At least you can't kill someone 5 feet from you now. It was really messy when you could.

Lol, now it's only 3 feet. I hate to admit it, but BF2142 is pretty bug-y

I agree. I only knife if I need to be quiet about the killing, such as there being two or more snipers in a row. Usually, they get such tunnel vision they never bother to check their surroundings, even when their buddy dies 1 foot away from them. However, with a gun, they'll hear you kill the first guy and do something nasty, like knife you or blow up some RDX. Solo guys, just shoot 'em.

Also, there's a slight delay between when you click the mouse to swing, and when it connects. It isn't necessarily ping, or a bug, but a delay intended to simulate the swing of your arm. So, click slightly before you intend to connect, even when doing the knife dance.
