Re: Proposal for a “TG BF2142 Internal Campaign” event
Nice idea! It's alot like the conflict2142 mod campaign and it would be great it we can get this campaign idea to work.

Re: Proposal for a “TG BF2142 Internal Campaign” event
This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I even like the idea of it taking a few weeks to get through all the battles. Get a feel for your opponents and have enough time between matches to devise weaknesses in their overall makeup in order to better attack or defend the next week. If this ends up happening you can count on me signing up.
It would be cool to keep track of stats throughout the "campaign" too. Take screenshots of the final scoreboard everytime and tally them up at the end. Have some kind of awards ceremony for outstanding performance. Maybe have the Ribbons people come up with something kinda like for the promotional video contest winner. Have a PAC or EU victory ribbon or maybe get ribbons for best squad, best sniper, gunship ace, or something like that at the end of the campaign. You could run it as a totally unique, first of its kind, super awesome event with special rewards for victory and participation. ... or not, its just a thought. |

Re: Proposal for a “TG BF2142 Internal Campaign” event
What if the complexity was upped a level, and there were benefits to having titans in certain maps, or winning a map would grant some benefit for the next map? This could even be worked in with a "multiple round per map" system, wherein if a defending team wins 1 match, they get extra tickets, 2 matches more tickets, etc.
I also think it might be interesting to try "forced cap-outs" where the attacking team has to win by capping out the defending team in a certain amount of time. In this case, winning previous battles might add to the attacking teams time, or losing them might subtract from their time. Is it possible to disable tickets on a conquest match? If not, then there would have to be some sort of benefit to the defenders for winning, and a neutral ground if the attackers win but don't cap out. I would be interested in participating. |

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES.
I don't get to play the big maps on TG since the server usually crashes. I've played Belgrade dozens of times. I am usually available Monday, Tuesday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Afternoons. I don't care who my SL is, i'm good with everyone.

Woo!
I see how it is, though. Propose something like this and get told to check out WWII Online. Propose something like this when you're in the E1st, and you're hailed as a genius! ![]()

Re: Proposal for a “TG BF2142 Internal Campaign” event
As an aside, is there any interest in having CO's be headed by specific IHS's? That way we could end up with the E1st & 9thMID on one side, and the 21st & 3rd on another? So, one match could be run by (in example) Crux as the CO with the 3rd, their forces bolstered by elements of the 21st - while they face off against Rasta as CO for the other side, his force bolstered by the 9th?
That way you can have certain groups commit to certain play styles - such as the 21st saying they prefer Titan maps, while the 9th prefers infantry maps? I brought this up in the NYTimes thread, and thought it would add a bit of in-game rivalry to the campaign as well as allowing for people to set preferences for what game types they want to play.

CC's pick their team. Yeah, the EA rank is misleading,as people playing longer would be seeded much higher than someone who may be just as good and a lower rank - but the draft allows for you to pick against that. As everyone signs up for the campaign, just have them post their EA rank along with their affiliation. Throw all the names and ranks into an Excel spreadsheet, sort by rank, and you have your draft order. OR! You can have the honor system, have players sign up under a CO, and have the CC's draft 2 or 3 co's.

Re: Proposal for a “TG BF2142 Internal Campaign” event
The Schoolyard throw-downs work best with the draft system. Rank really shouldn't play a part in it. The CC's pick the CO's and the CO's pick the SL's. It is a matter of who you wiould think works better together and diverifying our play style. Besides, sometimes it can be fun to work against you IHS buddys. You are almost always on the same side and therefore bring some experience about the other team with you.
Kinda like Patton reading Romel's books.
