Re: Conquest Server Overhaul

This is a great relief, and is very much appreciated by everybody at 2142 TG! Thanks to all those who worked to find the solution!

Hello,

In the "autobalance" Python script, can we implement a "timer" function to eleminate this problem?

Try the Python "sleep" function in the time module.

import time
time.sleep(xx)

And put this in a while loop and a statement will only execute on the
xx time... That allows you to run a statement at predefined intervals
regardless of how long the command takes (as long as it takes less than
xx or whatever you set it to.

Is this possible?

It may be. We will work on our own fix if the need presents itself. So far we have not heard a single complaint that team balance is an issue since we turned off the autobalance script. If it is an issue then please contact us. So far we have had more positive reports about the lack of a team balance script than negative ones. In fact we don't have a single negative report that I am aware of pointing to the lack of balanced teams since we turned off autobalance.

We are inclined to leave it as is unless people think that autobalance being turned off is an issue. If it is an issue, we will look to code our own fix.

Hello sc1ence,

I never had any issues with team balance.
I am on TS when gaming, so any unbalance problem is solved immediately.
TG members are willing to change teams when they see unbalance issues, so no problem here.
I just send my idea on Python.

And yes, it is better without a script.

Congrats to everyone involved on troubleshooting the server issues.

Regards.
