Conquest Server Overhaul

I am about to begin an overhaul of the 2142 Conquest Server. It will be going up and down for a little while while I make some adjustments to hopefully eliminate the crashing issues. The 48 player server will most likely end up being converted over to Conquest while this is underway.

Current Server Status:

Server is ONLINE
Squadless Kick is DISABLED
Reserved Slots are DISABLED
Demo Recording is DISABLED

Notes: We are running a straight 64 player 2142 Conquest server at this point. No extra functionality has been added and I want to see how stable it is in this current configuration. We will add functionality back to the system once we determine that it is stable as-is.

I believe I speak for all of us when I give you heartfelt thanks Apophis. The main TG BF2142 Conquest server has been very unstable recently: a crash every 2-3 hours has become the norm.
Even if you fix nothing, it's very nice to see ya'll care.

I've been aware of the crashing and watching to try and come up with some root cause. I did everything I could think of and it didn't have any effect, so starting the server install from scratch and slowly re-adding functionality seems like the prudent thing to do.

That does sound like an exceptional plan. Don't worry Apophis, the 2142 community is behind you! We will work through these changes together and be better for it in the end.

I was on it tonight for a while and it seemed very stable. Had two lag spikes though. Anyways, thanks for the hard work! We all really appreciate it, and so do the pubbies. They just dont know it yet.

I shall be giving the server a fairly decent run-out today and tomorrow! (Finally finished my night shifts)

I guess turning off team switching is also part of the server testing

I'm sure it will not last too long. Just kept a good attitude about it, its for the best.

Let us know if there's anything we can do, like seeding the server and testing it out a bit the way we did last night. We're more than willing to get on an empty server and teamkill the crap out of each other until enough people join.
