So I tried to set out and prove that Snipers were destructive to team play...

By making a video kind of like "World of Roguecraft".

So I hop on a FullContactWar NS server and spawn in. It was rife for what I was looking for, as half the team was recon. I expected to get flattened. I spend an entire round as Recon, with APM's and Active Camo. Instead of getting steamrolled, this is what I end up with:

Which also gave me this short video:

But you was on a pubbie server and as it has been said before going from a TG server to a pubbie server is like going from hard mode to easy...

Well, I'd invite you to hop onto the TG server during a normal round and try and do the same. You'll find that very few people are playing as recon.

Not disputing your sniping skills, but when 50% or more of a server is playing as a sniper, the majority of your targets are stationary, making them incredibly easy targets.

I tried sniping on TG once, and only once - and the reason was because I had stolen some dead man's kit.

Got four kills. One lone wolf, the rest got defibbed back to life. A sniper's ROF is simply too slow against a cohesive squad.

not completely true. You just have to use one of the stock rifles and get good with head shots.

It is a lot more difficult than whats pictured though. On TG with close to 80% playing assualt, you have to keep moving. Rockets are headed your way without doubt.

Oh my. FCW is the server I tend to head to when the TG server is empty and I feel like showing people how teamwork is done. (Actually, that's the server I was on when I posted my 'Non TG'ers become Believers' post.)

Just one squad of TGers....and that server would crash. It's amazing how easy it is to get points on that server. No teamwork...lots of people running around all by themselves with no back up. Indeed...it is a sniper's dream.

(And yes...I know what you mean when you said half the server was recon...it's always like that.)

On a side note. If anyone wants to squad up and head over to the FCW server and unleash some hell on those poor pubbies...please let me know. I'm always game.

I'm not by any means saying I'm a good sniper. I'm not. I'm terrible. I think I have a 40% accuracy with the Park.

If I were a good sniper, that fourth engineer would have been dead.

It was more of "I set out to screw up, and look what I got."

So yeah, "Going from Hard to Easy Mode" is kind of what I was going for.

I think I've sniped on our server like five times. Usually it's "Hey, SL we're getting pinned down by sniper fire. Want to counter snipe?"

"Sure, spawn in as a sniper."

"Copy."

I get three shots off as a sniper, maybe 1 kill. Line up my next shot, and then...

"MEDIIIIIC!"

I suck.

I enjoy going to the pubbie servers every once-n-while and racking up the points. It's really amazing the different level of play on the majority of pubbie servers as compared to the TG servers.

Interesting video.

I never look for targets while zoomed in. And I never stay above cover, unless moving, for more than it takes to fire off a shot.
