...what would you tell them? Lay out the secrets that you wish you knew when you were starting out.

1) Tell people you're new. On TG it will not only not get you scorned, it will get you answers and mentoring.

2) You can toggle your rifle in and out of single shot mode by pressing the key to switch to that weapon again.

3) The walker can run! Honest!

4) Holding your spawn means unselecting a spawn point by clicking somewhere else on the spawn map. You should hold your spawn until your squad leader tells you he wants you to spawn in!

I would start with something that boggled my mind for a little while:

* You can get out of single shot by pressing 3 again.

1) Uncheck 'Equip Heavy Armor' and keep moving!

2) Those rockets you keep getting killed by? Unlock them in the assault kit.

Left clicking grenade allows an automatic throw. Right clicking+holding allows distance of grenade throw and also ability to hold grenade for an indefinite amount of time.

The APC driver has a EMP, Use it every chance you get.

Stick with your SL , be careful someone isnt stalking a deadbody before you revive, always use cover , and never go rambo.

1. Press v to use the mic inside a squad.
2. Have fun. People like newbies that can crack a joke. If you can shoot, that's fine, but bring a good attitude along and you'll be set with some of the best players in no time.
(Man, I could have sworn I had that tank with my pistol. Just a couple more rounds and he would been mine!)

If you don't have your unlocks yet, be sure to pickup a kit at your earliest opportunity.

Never shoot unless you actually have something to aim at and which you can kill.

Firing an assault rifle at a tank does nothing useful.

Firing the APC guns and grenades everywhere like an idiot only attracts unwanted attention and teamkills.

If someone keeps killing you, next chance join thier squad and learn from them.

Rockets will destroy an FAV

You can't use your parachute until your weapon disapears when jumping or falling

Unlocks are available with teamwork, Field upgrades allow you to try new toys

TG Server is one of the best there is

The only vehicles which can be hurt by small arms fire (including rockets), APC mortar, gunship / transport cannon are FAVs and Hachi's.

When throwing a grenade, let your squad know over VoIP

Stay behind Spiff.

For those who actually climb down ladders, use the shift key to climb down faster.

*in his best Scotty voice* "Don't forget to use the shields in a vehicle, Captain!"

Placing sentry guns in a slightly elevated position is usually a good idea.

Holding the S (default) key down while in the gunship will engage the thrusters allowing easier hovering.
