Have we forgotten?
Has eveyone forgotten about our server rules?
I suggest we all reread them.
http://tinyurl.com/22r5y6
I have seen a lot of infactions on conquest #1 {A} the past few weeks, and to a lesser extent on #2 {B}
{yes I know #1 is in flux due to the crash and script problems it's been having recently}
This includes fighting commanders who when reminded nicely that we don't allow this, repley, so what. I have seen quite a few TGer's bunny hopping around, not to name names, but there's one IHS that some of its members seem to think it's fine to hop around while your shooting at them. and no I'm not bitching about bunny hoppers because I'm a poor shot ether.
Then there is the new rash of team killers. {rolls eyes}
Not to mention the amour/ship/walker stealing form UCB's is starting to get out of control, Mostly done by pubbies, but there are few TGers starting to do this reguarly now also.

Re: Have we forgotten?
I haven't really been on the server lately (as I'm working on using my NS badges/ribbons to round out the rest of my unlocks,) but I did catch myself in the Titan scrim almost bunnyhopping in a fire fight. (I say "almost" because I was attempting to get over a ledge, and jumped way too early.)
For me, the reaction might have been due to living on a PUB server for the last week or so. And, as my squad can tell you, I yelped in fear and immediately said "Oh s#*t! I think I just bunnyhopped."

Re: Have we forgotten?
We understand that the server has been difficult the last few weeks, it goes hand in hand with the stress testing we had to do in order to try to give ourselves the best environment possible without all the crashes. We are almost back to where we were before the reset so thanks again for everyones patience.
If you have infractions...Report them in the 2142 contact an admin forum or PM them to any of the 2142 admins. I am in TS almost all the time during the day and there is almost always an admin in TS while gaming.|TG-8th|RAGE

Re: Have we forgotten?
I have noticed a lot of "Learn TG" squads today. I even ran one.
I would highly recommend that as soon as the round starts, any TG members who are on a team should start a TG, Learn TG, VOIPTG, or whatever custom squad - or just jump in as SL in regular squads and sort of "force" the pubbies to play the TG way.

Re: Have we forgotten?
Earlier today, I led one of the best Learn TG squads I have ever played with. They were all amazing, only two faces were regulars too!!

Re: Have we forgotten?
I've also noticed some reports which weren't very legit. For example, someone reported me for bunny hopping on Tunis Harbor. It's easy to report someone for bunny hopping when you're shooting at them and they start jumping. However, maybe they were jumping to get over the train tracks, realized someone was shooting at them, stopped, crouched and began shooting back?
I encourage you that if you make a report, please consider all possibilities.

Re: Have we forgotten?
I was commanding last night, Reaper and his squad destroyed our assets so I just resigned my "Commandership". No point commanding if there are no assets and your squads aren't really following orders.

Re: Have we forgotten?
I also wanted to be able to try to get our assets back and commanders aren't supposed to fight.

Re: Have we forgotten?
Supply boxes = asset fixes!
And if your squads aren't really responding, well, they won't need supply boxes for themselves, will they? Heck, for that matter, if your squads aren't responding, start warning them that it's against server rules to disregard the commander without a good reason and an explanation.
Just a note for everyone: If we're going to keep our servers at the level of maturity we expect to see, we all have to help police it. Our admins, though they are awesome, can only do so much. They rely on our accurate and timely reporting to keep the server smacktard-free. So please, report people you see violating server rules. However, please also keep in mind that the person in violation--especially if it's a pubbie--deserves a chance to better understand the TG way without being kicked or banned right off the bat. So if you have a fighting commander, ask them to leave combat. Try talking to your squad members who don't listen to orders before you kick them. You'll get results more often than you think.

Re: Have we forgotten?
I was running down the hall in a Belgrade building recently, and an enemy soldier scared me by stepping out of the doorway in front of me. I knew I could kill him, all I had to do was survive his first shot. Before I knew it, I had bunny-hopped. It was just once, and it was partially surprise, but it was also partially not wanting to die.
I was so disgusted I stopped firing, turned my back and just waited for him to knife me.Last edited by Augustus Gloop; 02-11-2008 at 11:06 AM.

Re: Have we forgotten?
I had an argument with a CO yesterday that would not exit a tank. I told him that if he wanted to fight, to resign and fight. Then I told him thta server rules stated that he could command or fight, but not both. His response was "WTF is wrong with you?!"
I almost TK'ed him when he finally exited my tank.................almost

Re: Have we forgotten?
I second this observation. On a game when I was commanding on Cebre landing, a sniper was in the base blowing up assets, so i went to stop him... Upon doing so I got warned for CO in battle, thinking nothing of it I went back to work, just to be rushed by a squad moments later, inevitably leading to a battle and me being kicked for CO in battle ;-(. This isn't so much as gripe as it is an example of how things are not always as they seem.

Re: Have we forgotten?
That was I, you were not jumping over the tracks, you were 6 feet away in the open hopping around like mad as I tryed to shoot you with the shotgun, I have a broken right wrist and I would had gotten a screenshot of it if I could had.
I am very careful about reporting bunnyhoppers, I make sure they were not trying to jump over something like the tracks, getting on or off the barge, over a fence/railing etc. if I'm not postive, I don't report anything.{Once again, Fetterman wins "Grumpiest Pirate of the Week" award.} "Axis of Eeevil"
