Re: Old Games: How did you get here?

I forgot about Descent, I loved the first one even though I could not fly straight. Have to include the Janes series as well. I opted to leave out the sega master system, snes and n64. Other than Mario and Zelda, they were dust collectors as well.

Re: Old Games: How did you get here?

I couldn't trace the whole history, but I recall it starting with a game called Vector Tank or Vector Wars or something. Before that there was Atari, but Vector Wars was the first computer game I recall playing. And after that things like C&C started popping up.

Re: Old Games: How did you get here?

OMG! Lol!! I'm going to have to dl that when I get home.

I always wanted Legend of Zelda for my NES (which I still have, by the way). Never got it. The impression I got from my parents was that I should be happy with Mario, Duck Hunt, and Track Meet for the Power Pad (which I beleive I also still have).

I'm still sad about that.

Also, the reason I didn't list Tetris is that I didn't really play it--my mom kind of dominated that on my NES. She couldn't play Mario to save her life, but man, could she own at Tetris.

Edit: Oh yeah! Reading tuoply's post reminded me--I need to add King's Quest to the list. Can't remember which ones, but we had two of them. I think there were ten, all told?

Re: Old Games: How did you get here?

Now all these are good titles but I've been playing games PC, console and board for over 20 years and my pc collection of games surpast 100 titles 5 years ago. On that note

The godfather of FPS's and a little know game I think it was called Zaxxon but who ever remembers a game played off a 5 1/4 disk were my firsts.

Re: Old Games: How did you get here?

Zaxxon was a side scroller, not an FPS. Regardless, that was a great game and one I fed many quarters to.

I also had a tape based computer, it took 5 minutes to load hangman. I was amazed by it and I'm not really sure how it managed to hold my attention at all.

If we had to list standup arcade games. wow the list would be huge:

Arcade Games
Elevator Action
Astroids
Zaxxon
Table Tennis
Pac Man
Dig Dug
Joust (I was a addicted to this one)
Kung Fu
Double Dragon
Centipede
Bubble Bobble
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr (I loved this one)
Tron (Loved it)
Street Fighter
Mortal Kombat
King of Fighters

Amiga 500
Arknoid
Dragon's Lair
Strider (I lost many, many hours to this side scroller)
Marble Madness

Apple IIc
Karatica (sp?)
