oh yeah and take it from a vet, whos also read alot of military historical stratagy, a BAD PLAN, is better than NO PLAN. In other words, dont be scared to try a tactic and fail. I've seen it in many games. Lack of leadership will succumb to even WORST of leaders, be it SL's or CO's. Simple fact is, if a unit moves as a unit, they are automatically the better for it. Like fighting off bees, who have a natural instinct to swarm. 1 or 2 bees is a problem easily squashed (pun intended) but 20 bees, bees with no actual plan, but working in a group, will scare ya LOL

It can be very frustrating as a squad leader when you are trying to talk to your squad, and can't hear anything because the CO is yammering away in your ear. Try and give specific intel to certain squads. If one squad is on the east side of the map, they don't necessarily need to know about the movement on the west side of the map. If they do, they'll ask.

LOL I'm usually specific, but clicking and unclicking com channels quickly enough is not my forte yet. I usually start a round off saying if you want me to take u off the general intel comm, say so and i wont be offended :P

Oh man, I wish I had my puters hooked up. I'm missing out on all of the different commanding styles. I haven't been able to play in a few weeks now. Also I'm loving the threads Arithea has been putting up in the Tactics section for each map. Very nice!

I had problems with this, as well, until I discovered that you can select certain squads by using the number keys.

(Took me a good while and Gloop making an offhand reference to doing so himself...)

I have commanded twice, not on a TG server(eek) but other ones, and found that a squad leader shouted at me twice about getting the walker and other abusive language I care not to mention then I got booted, I thought i done well and I should have told the squad leader that it was my first command as he was really annoyed and I can understand why, I then today commanded a small map and kept spotting and holding my emp and orbital for when the enemy is bunched up or to take out vehicles, I took a walker out twice(learnt from my first command!) and the second time I emp'd the walker and the driver got out and ran, then ran back into the walker which I then rained down some pain from above and destroyed the walker and the player, I dropped supplies when I was asked for them(and got thanks for it) and sometimes when I was not, I let the squads do their thing as they looked like they knew what they were doing and I was getting good points for my work and then.....yes......I lost my connection!

So what im trying to say is that when you lose connection or get booted or told off or cursed at, dont get all annoyed and beat up over it, dont take it personally, and just keep on trying, well thats what Im gonna do anyway, and Im totally new to it, but its fun, and you have loads of toys to play with...yummy.

God a pub I'd forgotten they existed other than NS servers which only serve TG players to get NS badges quickly. Have a go on the TG server you (probably) won't be killed in a UCB it's amazing

. Seriously though you won't improve that much on pubs. The first couple of times you play on the TG servers you will probably be a bit shaky but you are at least ten times better that a pub with no mic.
