well I wasn't going to say anything but I simply couldn't let the Cats off on another rampage of oneness...

I found the server completely by accident played a couple of rounds and the promptly forgot about it until a little while later when I again randomly joined. I was greatly impressed by the style of gameplay and the spirit of the game. I played on TG for a couple of months before I put on the tags because after those initial rounds I couldn't play anywhere else it was so boring. Then I looked up tacticalgamer.com and read all the rule regs and SOPS and whatnot and added my tags, and I never had as much fun gaming before I joined up...
to use a metaphor...or simile always get them confused haha
TG is like a drug...you take a little...and then you take a little bit more...and before you know it your addicted!
So BEWARE everyone who thinks about joining...your gaming will change forever!

You will be addicted to TG and in extension join Catman. Everything is part of Catman and Catman rules all.

I thought my days of cooperative gaming through meaningful teamwork was done when I moved out of my college dorm with my good buddy who played Counter Strike with me. The good times we had, laughing and planning.. scheming.. for our dominance of the field. It was beauteous, it even now brings a tear to my eye. Always being a fan of the Battlefield, having played Desert Combat at LAN parties with another good friend (Yes, I am somewhat a geek), I saw this and thought, "Hey, why the hell not." and got it. My first few steps into the wondrous world of BF2142 were wrought with frustration, as time after time I was mercilously gunned down with maybe landing the odd kill here and there, and then slowly, as though from the divine Catman himself, I learned the lay of the land. The tricks were becoming more evident, and I could land kills now without dying every 5 seconds. I started wanting more. Teamwork, I decided, was the next step. Sadly, teamwork was hard to find, as many of you no doubt know. People running helter skelter just gunning down everyone and everything. I even lost faith and stopped playing for a couple of months. I don't know even to this day what happened, but one day I picked the game back up, and miraculously landed myself a seat on one of the most thrilling gaming roller coasters I've had the pleasure of experiencing; the Tactical Gamer server. My first taste was like the first sexual experience. You don't really know what you're doing, but it feels so great! After that first day, I knew there was no playing on any other server. TG had everything I could want, skilled players that worked together with teamwork to overcome the obstacles. This was the epitome of gaming, a perfect mesh of teamwork and individual skill. The time became a blur, and after playing with TG for what I could only guess was the course of several months, a TG IHS member recommended I check out these forums.. and place the TG tag on if i agreed with what Tactical Gaming stood for. I was completely honored to be considered among you fine players, and today I stand proud with you; relishing in the battles I've had and relishing the battles to come!

For me, its about upholding the TG values of teamwork, fairplay and fun. I started to play on the TG back in the late summer, early fall of 2007. The Learn TG squads helped me change my perspective on BF2142. Then TF2 came along and I got smitten by that. But a month ago or so, I found my old BF2142 DVD again and started playing.

The first server I joined, by random, was Tactical Gamer. And it all just started to flood back to me. It is truly the best server to play BF2142 on IMO and I decided to put on the tag when I realized that TG Way is the way to go

Strange.. I have never posted in this thread. I might not have had something to say about it before but now I do. So here goes..

Tactical Gamer for me is a place I can have fun with friends while playing a game in a mature environnment with a touch of realism created by a strict set of rules. The teamwork is a must to me and I found myself pleased over here.

It is also a place to share about our experiences and learn from our mistakes. Speaking of real life and ingame life.

AND mostly it is a place where you have the will to teach other players, TG or not, the way we see the games and how to become a better soldier and be more efficient to your team.

Rage thank you kindly for starting this thread. It is very nice of you to share with us on how you started with TG and how you feel wearing the tags. I must say that I am too, very proud to wear the TG tags. I so very happy of finding a community that is fun, mature and pleasurable to be around. I would never invest so much time unless I truly felt is was worth it. I'm also so very proud to be part of the 8th IHS (Mercs a/k/a Crazy 8's). I love my new extended family. I will comport my self the TG way no matter what server I may be on.

I chose to wear the TG tag because I enjoyed the servers so much, played them exclusively after a while, and felt the SOPs and the atmosphere are great.

When i first went into the TG server, i was amazed at how much you guys played around. But quickly realized, as my death counter went up, that TG was one of the best. I thank thee for letting me join.

When i wear my TG tags, it means that my honour as a person, as a member of a clan, team, unit, squad and indivudual is upheld. It means that no matter what happens, there will be somebody from TG to help me. It means that the American Soldier's Creed that i have learned can see some light, as i can use it now.

p.s. It also means i get to steal your donuts. Muhahahahahahahaha!

We are not a clan, we are a community. A collection of liked minded individuals that all share a common goal of bettering ourselves and having fun.

An easy mistake to make, but we pride ourselves on the fact that anyone is welcome to join as long as they follow the rules and work for the betterment of the team.

In TG, I found the greatest place to play a game I love with the best people there is. I found a place where the best players will do everything to support those who still need to learn. I found a place where people of all origins and skill level are welcome and treated with respect. I found a place where it's possible to take the game seriously and still have fun.

To me, wearing the TG tag means that for all of this to be possible, I must give my best both as a player and as a person.

You couldn't have described you addiction any more accurate. That is what happened to me as well. I have squaded up with you ... hope to do it again

To me, wearing the |TG| tags means that I hold myself to higher battlefield-playing standards and procedures than the average player; that even if I don't play on the TG server for whatever reason, I won't degrade myself to the point of needing to use underhanded tactics to get an advantage over my enemy (RDX bunny-hopping as a perfect example). The tags are almost exactly like a certification you get for your job; everyone can see it, but only you and your colleagues understand its significance.
