Re: Teamkills

I was playing titan on a pub earlier and I was SL, I podded up onto one of those two little cylinders on top of the titan to put my beacon down, and another SL (from my team) podded right next to me.

He crouched next to me with his gun in my face, but it still took me a second to blow his brains out....

Lesson: Stay off my turf!

Yeah, credit to the engineers who save 30+ tickets becasue they killed that walker very quickly.
I think that some games should at least give you a bonus for taking out high-priority targets. I mean, the most kills you'll get for a walker is 2, but you probably saved dozens of allies. Shouldn't there be a reward for that? (besides the warm fuzzy feeling)

And yes Eroak, we love you like a protectorate.

Re: Teamkills

Bumping, this conversation came up again in teamspeak today on how the punish system works.

Re: Teamkills

Only punish if you see that the person who teamkilled you was teamkilling other people as well before he killed you (check the score and if he's pretty far in the negatives than he's just tking for the fun of it [most of the time]) or if you can clearly see that the tk was intended. Grenades are a hard thing to tell because a lot of times a teammate doesn't see you or something and throws a grenade at and enemy, killing you and the enemy. If the person throws a grenade near you and no enemy is around then it was probably intended to hit you.

Re: Teamkills

I punish for crappy driving.

It's one thing if I run across the road and you hit me. It's another thing if the round just started, you just got in the FAV, and you decide to just floor it. I can't count how many times this has happened to me (or others).

I will try to avoid guys in that first fav run, especially squad leaders on our team. But timing is a huge issue with fav runs at round start. waiting for someone to cross can loose you 1-3 critical seconds. Usually I just accept the punish.

Re: Teamkills

I understand - common sense rules the day. If I'm in the middle of the road like a clod, I probably deserve it. But I've been flattened many a time in the opening of a round by an FAV when I'm nowhere where FAVs should be. Like I said - I punish for CRAPPY driving

The best I saw was when a whole squad was taken out by a friendly FAV not 15 feet outside the UCB. 6 guys. *Splut*

Re: Teamkills

Wow was I agry the other day. I hop in a FAV and cruise slowly and some guy just dashes straight foward into my car like has trying to get in and didn't hit e. I run him over. Completly his fault. He saw me coming, he ran straight at me and I was harldy moving. I revive him, then he tk punishes me, steals my FAV and ran me other. Take a wild guess if I punished him.

Nothing pisses me off more than driving people in a FAV then when they hop out at a bad time and land under the wheels and punish me for their stupidity of hopping out of a moving vehicle. Same with the transport ships which are really easy to get run over by the ship if you jump out while its diving.

As soon as I reached Brig General, I've stopped caring about my personal score since all it is is a total of kills, revives/ammo/heals, etc. Rather, If I'm an SL/SM I measure my own score in terms of squad score and my usefulness to the squad.

Like DaBrit said, some people have to do the dirty work that doesn't end up getting them a lot of points, but they are essential tasks for Squad/Team success.

Re: Teamkills

only time I have ever punished for a team kill was one match one Cerbere. I was at 45 health and I ran down went prone next to a team mate and started healing myself. We sat there staring at each other until I was at full health then when I went to move he knifed me in the face.
