Does anyone else press

the ~ button when they go to knife someone? I've developed this bad habit of accidentally hitting that stupid button, then it brings up this white block at the top of my screen with what looks like coding. Needless to say I can't move and instead of adding to my collection of TG-3rd dog tags I end up getting owned.

To alleviate the problem I just pre-ordered this thing,

I play with the Nostromo, you will notice a definete difference. It may take some time to remap the keys the way you want and get used to it, but it is worth it!

I have a generic n52 and love it. Just be warned, you will notice a definite decline in your game play for the first few days until you become comfortable with it. Once you get the muscle memory down you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

Let us know if you'd like to see some profiles, I'm sure there are losts of people willing to share.

Happens to me more often than it should. All the better if your prey is completely oblivious though.

I hate hate hate the console command, as it freezes you like a sitting duck. I changed my setting so that ~ is now my grenade key, and it's alot more useful.

If you find yourself hitting tilda alot, then remap the console command to a different key. try one of your keypad keys. I am a button masher too.

Move the console to mouse button 1, it works much better there - no kidding.

Re: Does anyone else press

Nope--I usually end up going prone. That's because I also have an n52, which I love, and my red shift is my weapon switch shift. However, it's a momentary shift which is mapped to what is normally my prone button, so I let go of my shift key (which is on the D-pad) too soon and end up going prone just before I knife someone. Hence the reason I don't have a lot of dogtags...
