It is true, really, that most people (including me

) don't actually want a game to be COMPLETELY real. After all, who wants wait 2 hours on their computer for their squad leader to give the order to raid a house that only has two tangos inside? Or after getting shot, having to sit there an hour before you die, and then create a new acount because yer soldier died? This mod is simply about creating a slightly more lethal battlefield with a new battlefield experience.

More lethal?

I mean, aside from a few inconsistencies (the aforementioned APDS round to a gunship, or even a Rorsch), BF2142 can't really get more lethal. It already takes like three rounds to the chest to kill a guy, and grenades are like tiny little nuclear bombs blowing up a tiny little Japanese city (oh I went there)...

I was watching a discovery channel on light bending technologies that phyisists were working on, and they also covered EMFF (Electro-Magnetic Force Feilds).

These were the people that were working on it at the time, google the researchers for more info. The reason I bring this up here is because when they showed the EMFF activated, one, it glowed a slight blue color and two, it made a sizzling sort of sound as it interacted with ions in the atmosphere. This was a stationary round table, with a large round magnet above it. The field creating a "wall" of force at its edge, between the magnet and the table. The show was hosted by that prominent Japanese Physist, but I can't think of his name right now.

So, there is a certain premise to the idea that the Active Camo would create sound as it interacted to the air around it. And, also the Active Armor on vehicles.

bye the bye, does anyone know whether the server files have been released for this mod yet? I started this thread, and have been looking, but have so far been unsuccessful in finding a server or the files.
