http://www.wegame.com/watch/newest_heros_video_awesome/
the new teaser shows char development, and their ad mentions you wont get owned by "15 year old kid who has nothing to do but play 8 hours a day every day" ROFL apparently you only play with ppl ranked similar to you.

So you have all these 'modern' guns, and for the most part they're pretty lethal. A few bullets and you're down.
ONLY - if you have your suit in armor mode, you can soak an entire magazine. Shotgun blasts to the face. There was also no stamina limit or anything, so basically 'gunfights' were people jumping around in circles spraying bullets everywhere, reloading, spraying more, until one guy ran out of energy for armor mode. This had the side effect of making every other mode laughably useless and simply utilitarian (except cloak mode, which had no use OR utility in multiplayer).
The game also had an 'XP' system, so you could 'buy' more advanced guns, more weapons, weapon mods, etc. This caused the 'counter-strike effect', where the losing team loses HARDER, and the winning team is now running around with nuclear-powered bunker-busting miniguns while you just have a pistol and a single grenade. Then you die, over and over.
Power Struggle had you capture 'power plants' and 'weapons factories'. When you got enough energy, your team could buy experimental weapons to destroy the enemy HQ.
Naturally, this compounded the original problem. Now in addition to the winning team having nuclear-powered bunker-busting miniguns, they were cruising around in fusion-powered star destroyers firing planet-crushing doom lasers.
Actually I'm exaggerating. The winning team would get a hand-held nuclear missile. No joke. A nuke. And the other team has a flashbang and a submachine gun.
It had a lot of potential, but ended up just being hilariously crap all-around (all of multiplayer, not just PS).

You soldier, deserve an award.
I laughed so hard when I read this post.
I'm gonna try BF Heroes, only because I found TF2 to be VERY fun. And I wanna sit on the wing of a plan and shoot stuff. Or even FLY said plan.
No VOIP.. that would be silly. But then the game is free. We'll see.

It's a cartoon game for mindless fun and silly gratuitous violence. Talking on VOIP would allow teamwork and coordination which is not the intent of the game designers.

Never player TF2. The BF family of games have VOIP but Heroes doesn't? Leaving VOIP out strikes me as deliberate and odd.

This is a good thing! Bought my current system in Feb '05 (21 in dog years). It's currently outdated by most games.

I pieced mine together from old parts, then bought it a shiny new GeForce 8600 GT. Its still pretty terrible by todays standards, what with the single core proc, only 1.5GB RAM, etc. :P

Meh, don't come here with your 2005 computers or 1.5G RAM, I'm the king of a crappy computer.
6 (maybe 5?) years old, FX5200 GPU, 1GB RAM, 2.6GHz single pentium processor, 80Gb hard drive.
Beat that
