Memorable moment in BF2142

I'm certain you're come across some memorable moments in your BF2142 career. Whether its a good frag or a hilarious experience post them here.

I'll begin-

Sometime in January 2008.

It was Camp Gib, and the SL ordered me and vertomac to cover the west side. It was pretty boring, but when harbor fell, the carnage began and the meatgrinder was in full effect. Vertomac had to continually parry off the incoming rushers, Ganz at the ready, while I was busy reviving everyone on there (Mostly him though.) Again and again vertomac fell, but with my defib continually healing his swiss cheese complexion, and the revives came so quick that he didn't even need to speak before I got to him. I got 3 Emergency Rescue pins that round, and 2 more the next. Short excerpt-

Vertomac: "I'm dow-"
*BRRZZT*
*BUDDA BUDDA BUDDA*
Vertomac: "I'm d-"
*ZAP*
*BUDDA BUDDA BUDDA*

Was a memorable experience.

Books I plan to read- War and Peace, Atlas Shrugged, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, etc.

Read so many novels, I can't remember them all.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

when i was playing CO on camp g and used an orby on what mustve been 3 squads clumped together;

the result? a combat efficiency off the first strike,

and a distinguished off the 3rd

oh, or the time i got a 22 kill streak with a rorsch. they kept playing chicken, ducking under stuff, but none of then were smart enough to use rifle rockets

not 1 in 22

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

The time when I led a squad of non TGers past Toll toward Ruins on Camp G. The one particular instance that is memorable is telling the squad to watch my back.... They all stopped and turned around to cover my charge, and were immediately mowed down by the mass of oncoming troops. I saw five medic signs on the map and was unable to go back and rev any of them.
After fact: my squad got shut at Ruins almost immediately, but 'twas the most exciting drive at Camp G I've ever been apart of.
Also: shutting down Heavy's squad single handed on Fall of Berlin (in the building between Crossroads and Roadblock): with revives and all, I spent 3 mags of Baur ammo and earned a distinguished combat efficiency pin. My emotion was basically pure amazement that i had lived through it all.

I was COing in Arithea's titan Tampa scrim. We were doing well enough it was pretty much even. They got our shields down first but Aruncado was on the case. I hat Lyra and Rage as general gunship/titan assualt/stuff squad. I tell him to get there as soon as the shields are down. I get back to commanding. I look up from many, many Sat-Tracks (about 1 minute later) all 4 of there consolse were down and their hull was at ~30%. I was in awe. They had no resistance and were given supplies before finally being wiped.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

One of the most memorable moments was a ladder match with the 3rd, where we had decided on a turtling strategy, but had already punished the opponents with the same strat last round, so they turtled too. We exchanged sniper fire for a few minutes until guardian downed one of them, and then we all ducked under cover waiting for the rush. I can remember the tension, the barked orders, the waiting, the bullets whining off close by cover... mostly what left an impression is the tension unrelieved by action. Waiting for the enemy to blink.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

Highway Tampa just came out, and we were all scrambling to try it out. I got into a gunship squad with Reaper, and we found fellow 3rd member Aruncado in the ground. Little did we know, motion mines could apparently fly. We must have flown down low enough to trigger the mines, and some how they killed us. To this day, I've been trying to take out a gunship with motion mines to no avail.

There was this one time when I hopped into an FAV with draeh and managed to TK him in the oddest way. No wait, that happened twice, or was it three times. No, it has to be more than that - damn, I've lost count. Needless to say, each time is as memorable as the last.

I'm sure he'll supply video proof...

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

Some of my most memorable moments have been while playing the Engineer kit. Recently, during the "Throwdown" scrim, I had an epic engy-vs.-tank duel with MDFubar.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

On C Landing, I was at church to help defend it against the PAC.

I run out of the gate and turn, there was around 8 PAC troops standing there staring at me. Well i yelled "INCOMING" and ran back into the church with bullets and clark RDX banging against the walls. Thank god that was the one time I packed Heavy Armor.

Also in Verdun, i was in a squad that was sitting in one of the outlying outposts to help keep the bleed coming in. We have a walker and a tank. I'm standing on a roof with the Pilium and a gunship swoops in and takes out our walker. The gunship rounds back and flies right over me, I hit the tail end of the thing with the pilum and blows up right above me. I was laughing so hard.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

playing as PAC on Tunis 16... sprinted back to try to stop the EU from capping our back flag. It turned grey as I lobbed the nade. 3 seconds, 1 kaboom, and 5 kills later I was sitting on the flag, enjoying a beer and hearing about it on the TS channel. Apparently you CAN kill an entire squad with one nade.

Also,

Riding the top turret position on Lyra's walker on Tunis 32. Doom on you! (I probably would have gotten kills even if I didn't fire, he's that good)

And not to forget,

The first time I had my squad equip smoke on Camp G as PAC. Spawned forward, dumped our smoke while going up the ramp, followed it with all of our grenades then strolled leisurely onto the flag. Fun!

Doing this with two walkers on a pubby server except replace the sword with a pilium.

Walkers hate me.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

You people will adore this story.

I am assaulting the enemy Titan on a somewhat deserted server. I'm accompanied by a clan that seems more focused on scoring points than actually winning the game (as per their demonstration last round of camping the core without blowing it up despite plentiful supplies and RDX packs.)

First, the stupid part. I am Recon, and an Assault comes around. A mine blew off next to me earlier and I'm down to 4 HP. I ask for a medic. As usual on a pub server, the medic royally ignores me and decides to linger at the door of corridor #3 where a sentry gun and a shower of grenades are waiting for him. Despite my numerous pleas for health, he doesn't listen, nor does he actually make his move. I have the enemy sentry gun aimed at me and shooting at the wall, so all the guy really has to do, if he's so hellbent on leaving me alone, is to run forward between two grenade tosses and clean the corridor of enemies. Simple, right? I do that sort of crap everyday.

He finally inches himself forward and promptly eats a grenade in the face.

I steal his kit, revive him, and drop a medpack for myself.

The idiot instantly walks back into corridor #3 where a shower of grenades are waiting for him. Needless to say, he gets his stupid ass killed. Fortunately, he's managed to toss a nade and destroy the enemy sentry gun.

I hide next to the reactor room door, and wait for more cannon fodder teammates to come around so I can make my next move.

Suddenly, an enemy Recon emerges from the corridor and starts planting mines. I fill him full of lead.

Then, a medic exits corridor #4 (where the console had been blown up) and tries to revive his teammate. I kill the medic, seriously wound the recon, and finish him off with my pistol.

I hide next to the reactor room door again and reload.

"Frag out!"

Crap. I get up and go forward, and kill the guy who threw the nade. At the same time, I kill another enemy who was behind him and was looking the other way for incoming invaders. Finally, there's a lone recon in the corridor and he's trying to pistol me to death. I empty the last of my clip into him, switch to pistol, take cover, reload it, and finish him off.

I run ahead into the corridor, while two teammates and some enemies meet again in the cargo bay for a skirmish. I've snuck inside completely unseen!

There, things take a turn for the better: I empty a few clips into the console, and a recon finally comes around and finishes it off for me.

And this, is how Shuri has beaten the nade spammers.

Re: Memorable moment in BF2142

I was in the ROFLcopter, which was being flown by Lyra. I think that nuckj was with us and maybe someone else. We were on the MonkeyGamers server. I think I had a kill/death ratio of like 60/3. Then, we all got kicked off of the server because they thought we were stat padding. This was like 3 days before the tourny w/ them. We got it all straightened out with no problems, but it was really funny!
