Unhappy Spreading out the TG players on server

ok, iv been playing our server a bit and there is one thing that dissapoints me.

it seems that every time i go to the scoreboard b4 a game there is always a large group of TG on one side, and me and maybe 2 or 3 on the other.. i would really like to see TG people evening out their numbers on either team rather than congregating on one side.

I belive there was a threat saying the same once! But what you are saying is actually true. I noticed that too lately!

But if you see that, just tell an admin in TS - they can even things up!

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

This comes up regularly, but it's a good point.
We should all try to keep things balanced, but there are several factors.

Keep in mind that it is often unintentional, as teams are auto-assigned.

Also, an admin may not always be present to swap players, so don't assume that players are stacking. It may just be that they can't swap teams because the numbers are even.

Either way, a friendly request will usually result in correction of the unbalanced teams.

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

Also, let;s not forget that not all TG players wear tags (sacre bleu!). Also, not all pub players are bad. There are many a round where a pub team has steam rolled what appeared to be a stacked TG team. My point? Make sure you're not underestimating a non-TG tagged team. Of course if the team is not using VoIP, teamwork, etc, then by all means request that the team be balanced (either by players or an admin).

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

Hop onto TS and into the 2142 channel and ask people to switch up the sides a bit. I have found that a friendly reminder once in a while clears up this kind of problem.

Indeed! Lorax should know...he's been flattened a time or two. I have led several non_TG squads to victory over the 3rd. Of course, it was just the 3rd *insert evil grin here*

He is right though, take the time to check the boards and spread the love! Because if it's one thing TG is good at, it's spreading the love. Don't believe me? Check everyone of those Voss rounds I put in ya...see right on the bullet, spelled, ARUNC...., ARIT,...LORA...

you get the picture

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

It's been my experience that after a lopsided game or two one of the admins will usually switch people. From what I've seen they've usually been right on top of things and been very good about it. Sometimes it's just a matter of moving one player that can make a difference.

I'm slightly scared by this.

Server balance has been a problem all of the time I've been here and will probably continue to be for all eternity sigh... But there is stuff you can do about. If your slaughtering the opposition, switch teams. Lead a Learn TG squad and see where it get you or CO properly taking over from that weird looking fighting guy. Make it your personal mission to shoot or orbital as many of your TG friends as possible and the ultimate prize is hearing what happens in TS after you win the round .

i feel that TG does time from time get one sided. However i also see top players switch side often when unbalanced.

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

Although it does getr unbalanced from time to time, most TG'ers are aware of it and usually complain more than anyone. There have been many times on TS that I hear someone mention that the teams are unbalanced and we need to do something about it. The funny thing is that about 6 or 7 people will acknowledge and then we all change and it is unbalanced the other way..LMAO!
We do try to even it up as much as possible, even without an Admin present. We all undertsand that it is about fun and fair play. We do not look for any game to be stacked, as we know that it becomes clearly un-fun and people will leave the server frustrated.
Even a quick global chat reminder is helpful: "Teams Guys?" or something along that line. Also, feel free to join us on TS.........you think that game is fun playing? You should hear what happens between rounds on TS!!

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

Hello,

As many have said before me, the solution to this issue is TeamSpeak.

Join the appropriate game channel and talk to the other members about any unbalance issue you may notice.

When I am playing I am allways on TS and I never had any issues with team balace. I just say it on TS and some members will change to the other team.

TS will help you find buddies to form a squad or just discuss the game in progress.

TS will also help you to contact an admin and report any problematic players that could ruin your game experience.

TS is a great tool in our community. Use it!

See you there MOONDOGGIE.

Re: Spreading out the TG players on server

Just jump on TS really, as said above. I recall several times TG were all bunched on one team because we were stuck on that team several rounds before hand and then switched over once someone pointed out the fact that there was stacking going on. Obviously sometimes theres going to be a group of TG on one side if they want to play together. Personally I think its all a case by case thing, and if someone thinks theres stacking just point it out.

Said a million times, Teamspeak is a great tool :P
