First shift admins?

I know everyone barks and hollars about needing admins to cover odd hours. Thosse like myself who dont work first shift (East coast times) often play during this time. Unfortunantly, between work and just being night owls, we have a substantial shortage of even a single admin during this time. I've admin'd/Moderated 1000+ member community, so I understand the reluctance to add admins to the roster.

So my small suggestion would be, how bout a part time admin who only covers in mornings when no one else is availible?

the other more technical option would be

Since the script has the ability to "read" whats typed. It is possible to use player list to compare to a player list (like it does for slots)

IE

Joeblow is on the list

He types out
jradmin.kick <playername>

server would read this, compare to list of authorized people, then follow the command

said jr admin wouldn't be able to ban, just get the attn of the violating party

if the person attempting to use the command isn't authed, the server could ignore, or kick for attempting to do something they shouldn't..

just a thought

I think Gloop and Rage are available during the AM shift, they are always in TS and sending chat messages to the server.

Yep, I've seen Gloop in the mornings and Rage stays up pretty late at night.

I'm on in the weekday mornings from about 9am EST to around 5pm. That said, I'm working so I can't always watch, and I occasionally take days off. Rage is usually my companion, and he's connected to TS to catch your verbal reports.

Make sure you use REPORTED to get my attention, or ADMIN. That will get you the best chance of immediate action on your request!

The Shadow (Gloop) Knows! Like said, just throw out an "ADMIN: reporting playerX for Y infraction". If it doesn't work immediately it will work retroactively

I'll share my secret with everyone. I wait for Eroak to get on, tease him a bit to get him fired up. Once he is good and frustrated, I start feeding him reports...life bans all around

Evenually, I'll have every jerk that plays 2142 unable to join our server, just give me time.
