TG's 64 Player scrim announcement (3/28)

Announcing the next TG 64 player scrim
*All details are subject to change*

DATE AND TIME: Friday, March 28th 9:00 PM EST

Requirements: Players will be required to be on TeamSpeak for roll call and instructions 1 hour prior to the scrim start time. Anyone who is not present 30 mins before the scheduled start time will be moved to the bottom of the signup order and may delay the start of the scrim.

All TG rules apply.

How Playing Spots Are Assigned:

A signup thread has been started today. We will attempt to keep the In House Squads together for this one and face them off against each other. All unaffiliated members will be assigned teams either randomly, as a pick 'em or at the discretion of the admin staff present at the time.

Quick Match Information
Date: Friday March 28th, 2008
Time: 9:00pm EST
Be on Teamspeak By: 8:00pm EST for roll call and instructions
Server: TBD
Map: TBA
Players: As many as we can fit, we are hoping for 64 players. Register here.
Type: Conquest

Ground Rules:
All TG rules apply.

IMPORTANT!
Players who no-show without notice for a scrim will be precluded from participating in the following scrim. Don't let your team mates down! Only sign up if you can make it .Feel free to start a discussion in this thread with any questions or thoughts you may have. If all goes well, they have also expressed an interest in a Titan scrim in the future as well.

Please post all questions, concerns, etc in this thread and keep the other thread strictly for signups. Any posts made in this thread to sign up will either be moved or deleted, depending on our mood, so it would probably be wise to post appropriately .

What not to post:
• "What time will it be in my time zone?" http://www.timeanddate.com/
• "Are non-supporting members allowed to play?" Yes.
• "Can you change the date? NO
• "I'm on the reserve list. How good are my chances of playing if I show up?" High. There'll inevitably be quite a few cancellations before the match and there's usually one or two no-shows on the day of the match.

Thanks and see you there!

OHHH this is going to be a big one!!! Come one come all. This is a great opportunity for all TG members supporting or not to get in on a great scrimmage, should be enough space for everyone involved.

Sweet! Zho's in.

If the map and mode decision is still up in the air -- may I suggest 64-player Minsk, infantry only?
I honestly can't remember the last time I've played that map so it should put most of us on equal footing with respect to tactics and strategies.

(Infantry tactics on a map of that size? And on a map so unfamiliar? A Squad Leader's heaven.)

Do you think if I asked nicely would a flight attendant give me a PC with 2142 on it and an internet connection?

Re: TG's 64 Player scrim announcement (3/28)

I'm guessing since this is a 64-player scrim, we will be playing one of the 64-player, armor-heavy maps?

I like 64-p Verdun, which was recently added to the rotation, and Sidi.

Flying is fun and everything, but I think it would be a cool rule variation to ground the transports and gunships and just make it a land-based armor battle.

Don't mind me - just rambing and thinking out loud...

Let me clarify, the map is TBA, not TBD - To Be Announced, not To Be Decided. Feel free to keep the ideas coming though as they can always be applied towards future events.

Reminder, we need more people to make this night a success. If you've already signed up, look over the sign up sheet and harrass the friends you DON"T see on the list yet.

Re: TG's 64 Player scrim announcement (3/28)

Well, the day is finally upon us so I guess we should announce the map.

The map we are playing today will be...

...announced later .

We still have more open slot, so get to filling them! Don't forget, be on TeamSpeak at the appropriate time for instructions and team assignments.

My wife has taken ill and I need to take care of somethings. I will try and make it later. I am really sorry for the late notice but the crapola stick can't read a clock...JJ

Re: TG's 64 Player scrim announcement (3/28)

That was an awesome event. My squad worked really well together, and I never felt confused or overwhelmed. I'm pretty new to this, and this was probably the best event I've ever done. The after-game messing around was also awesome lol. Having a -102 score and blowing up several dozen people at once with demopacks was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the video.
