How about radiation instead?

I highly doubt that this new update is going to be that drastic as to add more weapons in the game. They may just make some fixes or touch ups, add a map or two, and fix the known glitches. They may also fix the aim on some weapons and vehicle weapons. Even still, adding one weapon or adding more than one weapon would seem like almost too much for the EA team. Their updates (from my perspective or opinion) have mainly been to fix things that people have complained about or used to cheat with. I would expect nothing more from them on this update.

Frankly, I'd just remove sniper rifles altogether. I can't think of any FPS games that'd be hurt by no snipers. Hell, even TF2, the team with less snipers is probably going to win.
When I play a sniper class on a TG server I try to fire a shot at each enemy in the group once, move to the next enemy, and repeat. When my teammates reach the enemy and start shooting, the bad guys are already low on health and may be disrupted by attempts to heal, locate the sniper, or otherwise respond to the situation. Also, the command detonated explosives are both useful and wickedly funny.

That said, I'd like some commander unlocks.

NLOS battery - Basically a box'o'missiles, you call in the NLOS battery and then any squad leader in the field can request the battery to fire a missile at a designated position. The missile would have moderate anti-armor ability and good anti-infantry, and would serve to give isolated infantry squad leaders some degree of anti-armor punch in very large maps like Tampa.

Blinding Laser Weapon - Geneva convention be damned. A large laser or flare that would temporarily blind units in a wide area. With proper coordination it would facilitate breakthroughs, hopefully making the game slightly more fluid and dynamic.

Smoke Barrage - A barrage of smoke rounds to provide cover for advancing infantry

Mine Barrage - A barrage of artillery rounds that burst and deploy low powered anti-vehicle mines over a small area, suitable for area denial or last ditch anti vehicle defense.

Designated Drop Zone - create a temporary spawn point, for those times where your gross incompetence has caused you to lose all other available spawns. Obviously, very short duration, very long reload.

I'd rather not turn this into a Recon discussion, but, what the hell. Here's my thoughts.

Sniper Recon players are useful in small dosages, by which I mean maybe three on a team. If you can put a couple near a chokepoint, they will help out your team, because they'll be able to kill people without wasting tickets. This is hard for close-combat kits. Think Ruins/Main Camp in Camp G.

Stealth Recon players are useful for very specific jobs. For instance, having one player destroying assets. On some maps, a good Stealth Recon player can sneak behind enemy lines and cap a base by himself. This is a very tough thing to do though.

I've said before dual pistols and I really do mean that. Other than that I'd really like to see assault with some form of anti-vehicle thingy.

I'd like a Sentry Gun that can be thrown. It sticks to walls like RDX, so you chuck it onto a roof, and it shoots people.

#maybe-offtopicness Hm, personally I would *reduce* the number of rounds in the *recon* pistol.That would nerf ' em a bit (yes, yes, I know you all hate us, but we're only honest head-shooting fellas ) AND reduce number of RDXs so that they can destroy one vehicle/asset at a time (so you would require a supportie, which would promote squad/teamplay) and it would reduce the number of RDX noobs

Personally I'm old school sniper : take the shot, help the team , gtfo of there ! #end of maybe-offtopicness

Hmm I like the idea of some new vehicles ? Nobody mentioned anything?
Maybe if we have motor bikes in the future? OR para gliding wings unlock (reduce speed and damage from falling. Something like a parachute, only it's STEERABLE) ??

I don't know what is up with the parachutes in 2142. If they could be steered in the early 21st century (BF2) then surely by 2142 we would have invented some sort of rocket assisted hovery... thing.

I dunno upping damage from pistols but they were unzoomable (obv). Everyone uses there pistols I'd just like to see them with more power and dual seems the way to go.
