Re: Duty: A 2142 Story
Possibly indecisiveness is one of my biggest self-diagnosed flaws. That was really the only part of Frost part 3 I enjoyed...

Re: Duty: A 2142 Story
Here's part three. There'll be some new characters soon, so I'll add you guys. I'll probably do part four on Sunday.
When I came to, the first thing I noticed was Sir Nerd’s foot. Then I turned, and looked up at his face. He was tentatively applying a bandage from his Medic Box to my leg. He looked like he had no idea what he was doing. I turned my head, and saw Jonathan on my other side. I opened my mouth slowly and asked him, “What happened?” As he replied, he didn’t take his eyes off Sir Nerd’s fixing of my leg. I don’t think he had much trust in the new recruit’s medic skill. “Sniper on that crane. He clipped your thigh. You’ll be ok. He’s patching you up.” I looked around at our surroundings. We were still on the roof of the building, but we were behind a place where the height of the roof rose. This made a small area of cover. It seemed that my two comrades had dragged me back here. I looked down at the job Sir Nerd was doing on my leg. He was managing, though I was sure I could have done better. I laid my head back down on the sandy cement. “What are we gonna do?’ I asked Jonathan, “Well, squad leader wants us to bring you back to the infirmary. Is that what you want to do?” “Defintitely not.” I replied. “Once the drugs in the medic hub kick in, I’ll be fine.” “Well…alright if you’re sure. It would be nice to stay out here on the front.” “Yeah let’s stay. It’s not much of a front though. Where is everyone?” “I looked around while you were out. Most of the PAC soldiers are on the right side of the harbor. This side is mostly deserted. I think we should try to take out that sniper, and then join the rest of our army on the other side.” “Sounds good.” I directed my attention back to my leg, and found that it felt perfectly fine. Those medic hub drugs were incredible. I got up into a crouch, as did Jonathan and Sir Nerd. Jonathan said, “Ok, I’m gonna go forward, you guys gimme some covering fire on that crane.” He moved forward until he was at the corner of the wall. Soon he would be in direct view of the sniper. He gestured for us to come behind him. “On the count of three I’m gonna leap out, sight on the sniper, and shoot him. I need covering fire the instant I move.” I nodded. Sir Nerd didn’t look too sure. He spoke for the first time, “Is that a very good idea?” “Do you have a better one? Three—two—one!” He jumped out and splayed on the ground, immediately sighting his Bianchi on the crane. Sir Nerd pointed our guns around the corner, and let out short bursts of fire. This went on for a couple seconds, and then Jonathan blasted away with the Bianchi. “Got ‘em."
