Get the motion mines first, the orbs. Those are some of the most effective vehicle killers in the game. Also get the improved repair.

The Ganz is great. Much better for long-range, in my opinion, and its recoil is much easier to manage. Plus, it cools down faster, allowing you to fire near continuously if you use quick bursts.

the guns are balanced so that no one gun is far better than another, it all depends on the user.

In the hands of Reaper, all guns are the best... unless it's the Lambert.

    Re: Next unlocks?

If you also have all the player unlocks (grenades, sprint, etc.), and the squad leader squad beacon (SLSB) at least in the squad leader unlock route, then I'd say go for engineer.

First go for motion mines, and then go for Pilum. These are the 2 most useful pieces of equipment in the Engy kit really, but the defuser and the EMP mines can be useful at times, as can (I suppose) the radar thing, on a map like Suez Canal or other vehicle maps.

The SAAW can also be dangerous if you know how to use it right (I believe there are some SAAW TGU classes available, but I'm not sure).

After that, I'd say go for Support, as Support is a role where there is only room for 1 in every squad, and it's most likely to be someone who is experienced and knows the role well, whereas assault on most maps and engy on vehicle maps are the more common kits that everyone should have.

Unfortunately, I have left engy as my last kit to unlock, which I now realise is a mistake.

    Re: Next unlocks?

The Pilum is different to the other primary rockets in engineer, as it doesn't really have a slow lock on system. It is a powerful missile that goes completely straight and very fast as you shoot it. Because it has no lock-on system, it isn't too great against air, and is better against slower vehicles, unless you really know how to time your shots so that the vehicle kind of moves into your shots (it's similar to a sniper in this way). I think this is what it's mainly about, but I haven't used it much, so I suggest you get some more advice from someone like Arithea who knows the engy kit well.

I have used the SAAW once, when I picked it up by accident after being revived, and it was on Tunis Harbour so I decided not to use it, and instead took out my SMG. I'm not sure about it's ability against grounded vehicles.

The Pilum H-AVR (heavy anti-vehicle rifle) is a rifle with one round for each magazine (not really a magazine, just a big bullet). It shoots large calibre bullets which cannot be guided or locked on, but travel quicker than missiles to compensate. It has a slight scope similar to the Shuko LMG. It's best used against air if the aircraft is moving directly towards or away from you, or stationary. It can take out a tank in one shot to the rear AFAIK, and can take out a walker with one shot to the vents. The bullets seem to have a sort of EMP effect when they hit something, although it doesn't EMP the vehicle or mess up your HUD.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Next unlocks?

SAWW does nothing to land vehicles but can be an air killer. Pilum has no-lock on or guidance but is faster and doesn't give a lock-on tone in vehicles. I'd get MM and then Pilum as suggested. The only Engi unlocks you really want to be using are the bait, MMs and PDS (only) in certain situations.

The pilum is better on mixed mode and infantry maps. On vehicle maps it is down to personal preference what RL to use.

Here is a link to a TG How to:SAWW. I believe it was Draeh's creation... I think.

    Re: Next unlocks?

One important advantage the Pilum has over the starter weapons is that it does not alert your target (no warning beeps) when you're pointed at it. They won't know you're shooting at them until you actually hit, unless they're looking right at you or are listening very carefully for the sound the projectile makes in flight.

    Re: Next unlocks?

For support IDS is a must, the shield is near useless as they can just rocket the bright pink thing, all the weapons are good for different purposes. Assaulting a field,? The LMG is best. Holding a choke point? the Ganz is what you want. Rushing a building? nothing more satisfying that a headshot with the Clark shotgun. The RDX addon is useless, imo. EMP grenades are great for getting on the nerves of drivers, so they're good if you want to do something about that pesky armour running over teammates.
I go support if I'm not assault, so i know a little about a little :P
But heck, that's just my opinion.
