    if you throw up bait from under the shield the bait will bounce off of it and the mine will move right over where the bait is but as the bait moves out of range fast it will not explode.

    If you walk to the end of the hanger you can get outside of the shields and throw it up and over so it lands on the shields, it will stay on the shields and not go through. You can get up on one of the side supports and walk up to the top from the hanger too btw.

    TG tries not to make rules if we can help it. Some things demand definition for the sake of the game, but for the most part we try to rely on the TG way of not pressing an advantage allowed by game mechanics just because it's an easy advantage. We would prefer not to make a ruling on mining the hangar, but I suspect I know which way I would rule if the issue came to a head.

    Typically I like to rule against rules lawyers, because that smacks of selfishness and not acting to preserve everyone's fun.

    I'd just like everyone to keep in mind that in this issue, the fun of discovering and using successful tactics must be balanced with the fun of the game.
