Squad leading

Overall, I am fairly new at it. I have have taken a liking to it recently therefore squad leading most every round.

Because I am fairly new at it, I was wondering what those of you who have been in my squad think. I am open to all critique/comments/suggestions.

Re: Squad leading

I was in your squad last night and overall you did a great job. You were confident and had us moving toward good objectives. You also kept the atomsphere light so it was fun.

Once we got to our objectives, I think you should give out a few more commands or suggestions to the squad. I don't know about others but I like to hear the SL every few minutes even if its to restate the last command like we're still defending here.

Also, practice this: I'm always impresseed with the SLs who globally self aware; that is, knows everyone by name and kit and gives assignments while doing everything else.

Re: Squad leading

You've done a good job when I've been in your squad, so no worries there. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll have no problems down the line.

And you stole my idea! I was going to post a thread like this about the squads I lead... I think I should anyways.

For all the squad leading I do, this is something I'm still trying to get the hang of; knowing people's names and kits and having that information at the front of my brain when doing more detailed squad location and mission assignments.

Sometimes it helps to have fireteams set up beforehand, so you can cover two goals at once, but to really be flexible, you need to know who people are.

Great advice guys. Thanks! Ill keep that in mind. I usually have the same people in my squad day after day so I dont think that will be a problem.

Re: Squad leading

I was fortunate enough to be in your squad for several rounds this evening, and as one of the new guys around here I found you to be one of the best SL's I've had to date.

You were clear and concise in what the plan was and how you wanted us to execute it. Your tone is wonderfully calm, and as a new player I find that to be a real help. You also managed to be encouraging without being too "attaboy" which is great.

You were firm with those that at first didn't want to adhere to your instructions, but adaptable enough to take your SM's suggestions on board and recognise when made a valid point.

But above all I had a great deal of fun playing in your squad, and at the end of the day ,that's what keeps us all coming back for more.

So thank you for your time and patience with a rookie.

Rookie? I wouldnt have known. You were right on point on following orders and went above and you were a quick engy repair and even without asking. I say great work to you.

Re: Squad leading

I was with you on Belgrade ~4:50pm EST. I think you did just fine. You pushed when we needed it, and held the troops back to preserve the win. Your communication and command of the squad was excellent.
