Just a hello at moment
Hi all
just a hello at present - just found your site and it seems you have the same approach to gaming as myself.
firstly it nice to meet some tactically experienced players
secondly I'll have to go away and hone my skills before venturing out on your servers - (I'm ex submariner, so don't have a great deal of battlefield experience
so I'll be absorbing all skills I can pick up
thirdly this is my first online game after about 25 years of tabletop wargaming
so I'll go now, learn my lessons and hope to be back in say 2 week
take care all

Don't go away because you feel your skills are lacking. Instead make sure to jump into a TG led squad. No better way to kick your skills up a notch than trial by fire. A TG squad can also help give you the tips your looking for to improve your game.
Cheers!

Haha, hey Scarlet, no need to shy away. We're not an elitist bunch -- you're welcome to play with us right now. Don't worry about your skill level -- we've got plenty of newbies amongst us so you don't feel out of place and we've got even more experienced players willing to give you a hand and a few pointers. We were all newbies once, we know what it feels like.
If you've got any questions, fire away. Looking forward to meeting you on the Battlefield

Just a few thoughts fro you to consider. Look through the After Action thread, you'll find lots of ideas on how we play and the tactics we use. Fine the thread that tells you how to load "Teamspeak" you can get immediate feedback after each round, or learn more just by listening. Our server is very popular, so you may get booted for a supporting member. So join in and if you like the feel, I recommend you become a supporting member that way you can play antime you have time

Re: Just a hello at moment
Hi there fellow brit
listen carefully, I shall say this only once (British joke)
TG wants guys who are teamplayers, irrespective of skill or unlocks, being individualy skilled is not the point, its the talking teamwork in squads that we want and if you want that too then great, so dont wait to get on our server until you are xyz qualified, if want want teamwork then you are qualified right now.
other good advice is
join a squad lead by a TG person
get a mic !
Welcome to TG

Re: Just a hello at moment
Nice, another UK guy.
Just want to echo what everyone else said about jumping on the server now, you'll probably die a lot and have loads of problems to start off with, and you'll think that there's no hope, but perseverance is key, because we were all new and not very experienced or particularly good at the game at some point or another, and being thrown in the deep end, believe it or not, is the best way to do it.
Just to let you know, if the server is at 50/52 (I think it's 52, right? You guys haven't changed it since I left have you?
) it is technically full. If you try and get into the game at this point, unless you are a supporting member, the map will load up, and then the game will say that you were kicked by an admin or whatever, but actually, you were just chucked off by random. If you are a supporting member, then you will fill up this space, and the non-supporting player on the server who has been on the longest is kicked to make room. To become a member, go to the top on the members button and click on the "TG membership" link.
Also, getting a mic is a good step. Also, take a look at this stuff, to clarify some things and maybe give you some advice on certain topics.

Welcome, don't be afraid to come on our server, I don't think you'll ever find a better place to learn and become a better player. Any TG lead squad would a great place to start, especially any named "Learn TG"

Re: Just a hello at moment
Being with a TG squad is one of the fastest ways to get better at the game. Always having someone to pick you up means you get practice at skills better and faster since you're not staring at a spawn screen as much. Finally, you're much more likely to learn the value of positioning, which really is the most important part of the game. Forget shooting straight, that comes with practice. Learning where to be at all times is much more useful, and TG is one of the few places that teaches situational awareness. Most places just zerg towards the enemy. Follow your squad leader and you'll be more than fine.

Welcome to TG.
