yea, good spots for a pubbie server. I dont really think any of those spots fit TG practices.

Re: sniper spots beware

Well thanks for sharing... I agree though I don't think if ANY of these spots are allowed within sever rules...

Spot #2 on/at stature was cool. And you do have solid geometry that you are standing on, not an invisible plane so that one might be a gray area, if it were not for the APC being required to get there. Otherwise all these are exploits, and against server rules...

Re: sniper spots beware

How are they exploits? None of them involve glitching in any way, they just involve using an APC.

Beacons are just a tool as well, but if he used one of those it would be considered a glitch...

Now I could be wrong, but if I read EA's rules correctly you are not to use hidden geometry or holes in said geometry to gain an unfair advantage. In the last two sniper spots the guy is standing in mid air on an invisible plane in the geometry of the game.

So he is standing on a glitch...

Spot #1 is High Roofing

Spot #2 Could be high roofing or could be legit, depending on the APC ruling

Spot #3 Geometry Exploit

Spot #4 Geometry Exploit

Again I could be wrong, this is just my two cents

Re: sniper spots beware

Ok, lets be clear on rules.

Rooftop beacons are not allowed. Technically, a becon would be allowed in all cases of this movie but the last one. The ruling goes furture and allows beacons to be placed so long as it's within reach of an air transport, or APC pod. Funny, isn't it? Now if people are cought doing this and doing nothing but UCB camping, lacking teamwork, or goofing off. Action might be taken! So far, the only resonable reason to use a roof so far is reconniscence data for your squad. But whatever reason you chose, make sure it's for the benifit of your team.

On another note, the last 1 would be a exploit since they are free floating w/o geometery.

Over all, ALL RULES are made to perserve balanced play. If something seems exploited or unbalancing, an admin can still take action if he feels it is nessary. So if a admin asks you to leave an area, or something else that isn't in the rules, Listen! Then we can explain things later via PMs or private forums.

all of those spots probably do not carry a long life expectancy though.

Re: sniper spots beware

Ya, the first one MIGHT be the only one where u could last. Most the others are just cool spots similar to jump spots (apc spots in this matter). For example, if any of you play halo3, u know u have to do some crouch jumping to do somethings. That is okay so in MY term of this, if you can jump there, its all good. But the apc is an exploit how it was being used. Its similar to this one FPS i played called Soldier Front where you could "nade" jump where u would drop a grenade then jump before it explodes to get into glitches. That is kinda similar here. If you could get on the one thing at statue, it should be legit as long as it isn't an apc (i don't know where shield jumping comes into this...). But anyways, they seem like not good spots. Plus, you can't really hold ur own unless ur hiding because like that last one, u ARE on a floating platform so u are pretty visable. But that is just what i think. (i think i went kinda off there for a while lol)
