I'm one of the snipers, but I find myself more often playing assault for reviving my teammates then playing recon. Although when recon I'm one safe green dot for my SMs to spawn to.

Someone spawning in on you isn't always them ignoring you. I've sometimes accidentally spawned in on my SL after dicking around on the kit selection screen.

same here uranium and as for snipers, its annoying having a sniper SL cause if you arent sniper also you end up being extremely far from the action, which ticks me off! >

Not really, I personally think it's better to be 50m away from the action then 10m too close

Sometimes people aren't all that good at teamwork. Sometimes it's not just them being stupid. They could just suck at teamwork.

Of course there is a time and place for catwalk sniping. Personally, my SL style is to drop a beacon near the fight and join the squad... although sometimes conservative squad leading is necessary. Regardless, I just find catwalk snipers annoying in my squads because they don't contribute that much to the team.

Every once in a while I'll have a snipe hang back and watch for runners.

Sometimes you have to change your squad plans based on the actions of your squad members. Is it a good thing, well depends how you look at it. Most of the time, the only thing affecting a bad squad member is FPS Addict. They just want to join the fight and shoot their guns and swear when they get killed....

The solution, bring them into the fight... They'll learn a lesson very quickly, they stay in the fight if the squad leader stay alive. If you are planning on trying to teach the fellows and don't want to boot them, you have to give them a little bit of a hard time. Order them onto the flag three times, they will keep dying, spawn on you, then you tell them the plan isn't working. They'll listen because they don't want to keep dying, and if you somehow know a way to take the flag without them dying, they'll stay interesting. A game of lion and mouse I suppose.

Another thing, when someone doesn't follow orders and completly ignores me, I go do my three step procedure.
    1. Ask them why would they join a teamwork orientated squad if they are going to run out on their own?
    2. Give them the option to leave when ever they want, constantly ask them to come in with a specific kit and get with the squad
    3. On the next round invite them to the squad

They start becoming better players... There are a few names up on the forums that might remember me doing that to them!

    - My favorite remark was by a very troubling squad member. After saying the above two, he replied via a mic saying all the other squads don't have mics and no teamwork. So I told him then come join the rest of the squad, we need you help! Pubs need loving too!

That's why now, whenever I see an APM, I back off and wait.

99% of the time, a squadmate rushes through without warning and "defuses" it for me.

Re: Team work? Don't think so...

Something I learned from Crux soon after my 3rd or 4rth time under him, was his no-nonsense attitude. I have a big mouth and sometimes lose sight of the squad, especially because of my habit of watching the rear... Crux has a sit down, shut up, and do as I say, and speak only when spoken to.

    Crux taught me:

    1) Do not speak over the SL or the (CO for that matter)

    2) Use the kit you are told to use unless permission is granted for something else

    3) Only speak when needed (i.e. enemy going east from our position)

    4) Follow the orders on where to go

    5) Stick with your partner

    6) Listen the first time, don't ask again

    7) Be quick about your jobs

Now, this is what Crux demonstrated in how to be an SM when I was in his squad-- I learned the hard way, but I learned...

And that is why I'll never waste my time joining a squad like that, nor would I expect anyone else to.
