Question Uploading picture from computer to be sig

Hey! I recently downloaded GIMP so i was playing with it and made a pretty cool Signature. The problem is, it won't let me get it as my signature. It is within 468x100 and is less than 48kb. What do i do? please help because i am somewhat proud of it

You need to host your picture on the internet so that other people can see it.
    1. Go to imageshack.us (or an equivalent free image hosting website).
    2. Upload the image.
    3. Copy the image URL. In imageshack, it should be the very last line in the 5-6 fields that are given to you.
    4. Go to your sig and paste the URL there. Around the URL, put [img] tags.
Final product, in your sig, should look like this:
    [img]http://imageshack.com/some_picture.jpg[ /img]
(without the space before the slash)
    Fight!

To take a screen shot press Print Screen, or Prnt Scrn, on your keyboard (just above Insert on most) and it'll save it to the Screenshots folder in your 2142 folder.

nice sig, man, better than the one I threw together :P

No, but if you take a screen shot, how do u take the guy out so there isn't anything around him. Or if you take a pic off google and the background is white, but u just want the picture and not the white around it. How do u get that?

Photoshop's magnetic lasso or magic wand is what I use.

If you mean extracting a render of a specific gun, vehicle, person, etc, you can use any program like photoshop and probably gimp (although I haven't used gimp before). Photoshop specifically has a "magic wand" that you can use to select specific color shades and extract certain objects.

Of course, you could just use the good old eraser and 2 hours of free time to go all the way around your picture to extract it... but then that is time wasted when you could be playing 2142.

If you want a specific render I have a few from 2142. Just PM me if you want one already cropped. If you don't have the means to render something you could also drop me a PM and link to the pic... I might not get back the next night but I can get it done by the coming weekend.

GIMP isnt anything compared to Photoshop. You wont be able to make anything of the same quality in the same amount of time or with the same ease. True, GIMP has a "magic wand" tool, but it sucks.
