It's my opinion that Titan is won or lost on the ground, not in up on the hostile Titan. Sure, if you catch the other team unawares and knock out their core on occasion, but not always. It only takes a handful of people to defend a corridor while the rest of the team keeps the pressure on with the silos. Then the other team has to figure out if they should continue to defend their titan with X amount of people, or should they refocus their efforts on the control points. Lots of decisions and with an organized team, very tactical.

It was a great scrim, no balance issues and everyone had a blast (well, I'm not really sure if Bommando enjoyed it or not ).
yes if played well
but 95% of the time its not played with awesomeness its just played randomely!

That's actually more strategic than tactical, which Conquest is rare to offer

Re: Want more titan in the rotation?

The primary difference between Conquest and Assault Lines is pretty simple. In Assault Lines, one or both UCBs can be unlocked and taken. In order to do that, one team has to control all of the flags and maintain control of them while capturing the main. If the main locks (they loose a flag), the assault on the enemies main must cease.

We had moving titans in shockwave. We had a rule though that we dont get them into visualrange. So with a rule like that we might could have moving titans!

Unfortunately, the shockwave atmosphere is a bit different from that of the normal server, where pubbies can and will move the Titans into visual range if movement is turned on. Personally, I really wish they'd fix the lag since Titan movement is a pretty important part of actually using its guns and pods to their full extent.

Re: Want more titan in the rotation?

The lag is mostly grapix lag because there is so many polygons being drawn at once. I have a fair gfx card (x1900) and I rarely if ever see any stutter or problems when titans are close.

As to how many maps 4 is about right I think. The average map plays for around 30-60 min I think so at 1/5 you will play 4 non titan maps or about 2.5-5 hours then do one titan map.

Re: Want more titan in the rotation?

The only time i see lag is if some jerk is in the aa guns shooting at the other titan.

Re: Want more titan in the rotation?

Ugh.

Anyone played Planetside? Remember the annoying view-blocking message you had to click out of that would come up when so much as damaged a teammate?

I think a message like that should come up whenever you fire on a vehicle with another vehicle-borne weapon that does no damage to it. IE: A gunship gunner firing on tanks with the minigun, or the moron in the top seat of your walker shooting blindly at everything with it.

Re: Want more titan in the rotation?

The AA guns do damage the titan, they can and will destroy the Titan's heavy guns. They are far from useless against it.

The AA guns will not depress enough to fire at the lower guns on a titan so you would need to have a titan at a lower elevation.
