Wait, how? Did you have like a really old family PC or something?

I remember growing up with DOS, had some quality games for that old thing.

I really felt old yesterday..... Someone in my squad said something along the lines of ... "Wargames Movie? What's that?"

Well Windows98 i think still had DOS in the backround, and games still came out in dos round that time. I just tried to Install a Carmagedon disk I had laying around, but couldn't cause it's a DOS game.

Didn't think that game was that old.

I'm not 100% sure. I remember that was the first computer I ever had access to. I think it was the one my mom used, but it was the current thing as far as I can remember. I've been on a computer since before I could read. I played A-10 Cuba an one win 95/98 game, I also played the Windows Arcade on 3.1. I do remember that. You guys know centipede, asteroids, battle tanks, tempest right? I still have that floppy somewhere...........

Anyone hear of a game called "Scorched Earth"? It came out as a floppy disk and is similar to Pocket Tanks.

My dad insists on hanging onto one of these. The cat has taken up residence on the monitor, so we have to keep it!

Re: 'Motivational' posters

Those things could be of some value today if they work...but if the cat lives there....well.....you may be out of luck.

I've still got my C64 in the attic! It's about 20 years old now!

Two words: Kings Quest. I wish newer major versions of DOS were backwards compatible so I could play it--I still have KQVII around somewhere. And the old Lord of the Rings game I have for DOS that won't run. *sigh*

Re: 'Motivational' posters

Hey, I found it. The original MSArcade. It includes Battlezone, Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, and Tempest! It even runs just fine on XP. Drop me a PM if any of you want a copy.

Windows? I don't need no stinkin' Windows!

MS-DOS 4 on the original IBM PC FTW!
(the one with 8 bit processor, not the later 16 bit speed demon)
