I don't think the bunny hopping rule applies to jumping out of the way of the FAV or any vehicle for that matter. I've jumped out of the way of a FAV on more than one occassion but I didn't jump more than once. Bunny hopping is plural and a jump is totally different, however, if the intent is to escape fire then I would consider it bunny hopping, even one time. But me personally, I consider it a legitamate strategy to jump out of the way of a FAV, besides IRL you wouldn't lay down in front of the vehicle and wait for it to pass over you. Your butt would jump out of the way....at least I'd like to think that I would.

Which is unlike bunny hopping to avoid fire which I would like to think no American would do IRL. Have you ever watched African militias shoot weapons, they're horrible at it. Come to think of it, bunny hopping could be a legitimate strategy IRL, because if I saw you do it I'd probably laugh so hard I wouldn't be able to fire my weapon straight.

What do you all think about the jump>prone thing?
I don't know if its technically illegal, but jumping around a corner is at least similar in spirit to bunnyhopping. I wouldn't do it and I don't like it when people do.

Laying down in an attempt to avoid death flippies feels too much like giving up

What's wrong with speaking in the third person. D does it all the time.I don't think he reported himself, TheUrit did (well that'd be my interpretation of the post).

what i meant, is that you know the person is around the corner. So you jump at an angle then prone (but not firing) so you can get a headstart on them without walking around the corner then proning. I think i have only done that a couple times though.

Yes, I know what you meant. I think its stupid. Going prone is a terrible idea, typically. It turns your center of mass into your head and sets your reticle to as wide as it goes. Now, the way you're jumping and going prone in mid-air is designed to get around that feature deliberately programmed into the game. And yes, I believe that dolphin diving was considered banned at one point. If not, it really should be.

In my unprofessional opinion, this seems to be a clear exploit of the game system to gain an advantage.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:

The key part is what your intention is.
    • Jumping to navigate terrain is legitimate. Walls are terrain, train tracks are terrain, boxes are terrain, etc.
    • Jumping to increase the distance of thrown objects such as grenades, mines, rdx, etc, is legitimate.
    • Jumping with the intent to avoid fire is NOT legitimate.

Good rule of thumb: If you think it will be against the rules, don't do it and seek clarification from administration.

I agree with the server changes thuis far but would like to see a bit more titan.

In relation to dolphin diving in some situation the quickest way to get behind cover (a small fence or wall etc.). For example on Ruin in Belgrade there is a small wall I think dolphin diving there under fire would be ok as in a real world situation (unless you were dead ) you would jump behind that little wall for cover and dolphin diving is the closest thing to that real world dive.

That would be navigating the terrain and utilizing cover...
