Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Just a gentle reminder that breaking server rules is punished quicker and harder when you're wearing the TG tags. No one is immune to this, not supporting members, not IHS... if Apophis logged in and deliberately tk'd someone, I'd put a ban in for a week for him.
I hate to do it. I really, really sympathize with that moment of anger, that clean feeling of revenge for someone who's been pissing you off, or hurting their team, or bringing down the mature mood of the server.
But if we don't police our own, we give up any moral structure and become tyrants when we try and impose server rules on visitors to our server. As much as I hate to punish my friends, I will do it, rather than drag the admin staff and all of TG through the mud.
Again, just a gentle reminder.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
I have a question on no bunny hopping. Does that mean we can never jump when fired at or just jumping repeatedly is unacceptable.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
The generalized, accepted description of bunny-hopping on TG servers is, "The act of jumping to avoid fire/falling victim to a knife." One jump and it's considered bunny hopping.
It's a hard habit to break when you've been used to fast-paced Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, etc. where hopping is an acceptable death avoidance strategy, but rules are rules.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Jumping over or behind cover to avoid fire is perfectly legitimate, jumping to avoid fire with no cover in sight is not.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Just don't jump (for the purpose of avoiding bullets) and you'll be fine. Trying to find a rule where you're allowed to jump twice before it becomes bunny hopping (for example) would be silly and legalistic. You know what the rule is trying to prevent, now play by that spirit.
I jump when I draw fire a lot, actually, but its always to get over the low wall I know is to my left (for example) and not to use the mechanics of the game to provide me cover. If there was a CoD4-style roll over the wall, I'd still use it.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Which isn't to say that we will drop the bomb on you for a suspicious jump. You'll get clear warning. I frequently hit jump trying to hit another button. That said, I did once knowingly bunnyhop, and was so mad at myself I turned around and let the guy knife me even though I had him dead to rights.

I totally agree with hard to break habits thing because in all shooters, the goal is usually to live. Thanks for the clarification though.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Last night Rage had the bleep scared out of him by TheUrit and I kneejerked and slammed the jump button. I killed him then had a very remorsefull moment as I realized what I just did and as his squad was coming for him, I just allowed myself to be gunned down and he was revived. Moments later I saw the ADMIN: Reporting Rage4order for bunnyhopping from him so I gave myself a verbal warning.

Please dear lord in heaven someone tell me they got a screenshot of that!!!!!!
Also, people need to realize this is a game and sometimes you hit the wrong button, I don't report someone for jumping once, now if everytime I run into them they are jumping then I report them. Hell usually I go to shoot someone and end up pulling out my ammo box (don't ask) then it's a frantic, runrunrunrunrunrunrun and try to switch back.A captain of the most awesome IHS ever and remember to burn before you pillage.

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
How would jumping out of the way of a buggy be considered bunny hopping? I mean, in RL you would never bunny hop to dodge bullets but you would dive out of the way of a car, and jumping is the closest thing to diving in the game. Wouldn't that make it legit to jump out of the way of a FAV?

Re: Wearing your tags, and breaking server rules:
Usually I'll let one hop go also. Heck, the difference is only instead of me gunning them in the face, I'm shooting directly into their futuristic codpiece. I agree with Catman though, repeat offenders and the Cadbury cream egg bunny are no-no's.
