I haven't checked out this mod since it was new - well, past the first patch anyway. From what I'm reading here, doesn't sound much improved. That's too bad because they hype was certainly good news for Star Wars fans.

From what I've heard its tons better then the original release. Lots less bugs, and the infantry gameplay is pretty solid, imo.

This mod is coming along nicely. My only complaint is the Alliance's "sniper rifle" the Disruptor. The ROF is way way to high.

Spent some time with the mod last night and had some fun. I'd like to see a night where we get a large group of us together and give it a shot.

Having been 7 on the FS leaderboards at one time on 1.1, when they were experimenting with ranking, I got some good experience on the infantry maps. You couldn't tell by just playing for, say, a few hours, but the devs have really added alot of new dimensions to infantry play. First of all, THE SMOKE ACTUALLY WORKS!

It can work the best on Rhen Var Research Facility, where the snow already clouds vision partially. I recall one particular instance when I was SLing on that map, and near the end of the round, I threw smoke up on the Lookout flag. I got to the top of the hill and was able to mow down literally half the other team (7 or 8 or more kills) with my shotgun. I would have been easy prey to the pubs' sniper rifles and Assault weapons if I hadn't had smoke. As it was, they ran blindly throught the smoke toward the then neutral flag and fell like lambs to the slaughter

On a different note, the sniper rifles do kill with one headshot and two bodyshots. However, the target area for the head is very small and tricky to hit, but that could be due to the scope on the SRs rather than the game files.

I agree about the disruptor comment -- it seemed like a good 60-70% of my deaths were due to it.

I would also like to see an organized night.

According to them http://fsmod.com/us/, only the FS servers have to be upgraded. The clients are fine with the new patch.

Use the server browser and tell it to only show servers running the same mod. Uncheck "ranked only" too...

but the only one there is version 1.25
