New 2142 rotation
We have a new rotation up on the server. With the latest update we were given some new maps and map options to play with. The following rotation is the result.
eu bleed shingle
eu bleed shingle
neutral belgrade
pac bleed cerbere
pac bleed wake
armor verdun
pac bleed berlin
pac bleed camp gib
neutral belgrade
titan highway
pac bleed cerbere
pac bleed berlin (No Vehicles)
neutral tunis
armor Shuhia
pac bleed camp gib
pac bleed wake
neutral tunis
titan minsk
pac bleed berlin
pac bleed cerbere
nutral belgrade
armor sidi
pac bleed camp gib
pac bleed cerbere
neutral verdun No Vehicles (16 player)
titan suez
We are playing each map once. If you look at the rotation, the balance we are looking for is that each team has to play PAC on a PAC bleed map an equal number of times. The same team should never play PAC on a PAC bleed map more than once every 3-4 maps or so. So you wont be pac on carebare, then pac on camp gib the next round or two. At the end of each round, the teams switch. If you were to play the whole rotation through, you would play each side of each map at least once.

shingle is at the start of the rotation because it is a great seeding map. It is also and odd map in that EU starts out on bleed. We have no other map to offset it. Notice all pac bleed maps are back to back. this ensures that you are not playing pac under bleed 2 times in a row. Putting shingle in twice back to back makes sure that each side gets a change to play each team.

first thing, i think #25 kills the streak (16 players) you'd have half of the server being kicked out or have to watch as spectators.
then ... you shouldn't worry for balance over more then 1.5 hours, because most players play between 30 mins and 2.5 hours. And then again, if over theyr time period the game is not PERFECTLY balanced it's not that bad, they'll have a better day tomorrow.
what i would mind for is having a "collect" streak, for example 2 gibs and 2 cerberes (1 1 each then again 1 1 each) during the low periods of time, like 10 morning (GMT-5) would collect enough players to start the server.
i do not know if you are able to do that, change the maps streak according to the hours of the day ... but that would rockBF2142, ikariam alpha, contact me if you want a tactical game

The size of the map does not determine the max player count, there is another setting for that. What it does determine is which version of the map to load (16 player, 32 player, 64 player, or 48 player if Titan). The size also determines the starting ticket count.
To better explain: We play Tunis Harbor with a 64 player map size. The 32p and 64p maps are identical, the only thing that differs is the ticket count (300 tickets for 64p vs 200 tickets for 32p). This makes for a longer game, more bang for the buck. Tunis also has a 16 player version which looks NOTHING like the 32p version, but if you look at it, you can see where it might fit into the dead space of the 32p map. It is a smallish map with only 100 tickets. Some call it a chaotic frag fest...

thanks to the admins for putting the thought into this
my one question you probably cant answer ...... yet, until more time has passed
how's server stablity since the patch ? on average how far does the rotation go through or how many times does it go around the clock

We were going to announce that later, but since it has been done already, there you have it. It basically consists of the bleed/cap out maps and is geared towards players who enjoy playing these type maps vs maps like Verdun or Tunis Harbor.
Tiny tunis is in the swap the teams after Shingle. At the end of the rotation above would also be a round of 16p Verdun, again to put something between shingle and another map forcing one team to fight uphill twice in a row. However, it's not completely fleshed out yet, with 6 maps in the rotation doesn't allow for much versatility. We'll either add another map, remove one, or extend double up the rotation and drop or add a map in the second half.
the modes:
gpm_cq = Conquest
gpm_nv = Conquest, No Vehicles
Is anyone interested in this?

hm... I actually think I like the second server rotation. I haven't played on the servers since the changes, but the uphill battles were always fun IMO.
What about a Minsk 16 or 32 somewhere on the second server? That could be cool.----------------------------------------
